*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*LEARN TO PRAY BY PRAYING.*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Luke 11:1
*And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
The best way to learn how to pray is to pray.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Jesus' disciples came to Him asking them to teach them how to pray.
Jesus *"......said unto them, When ye pray, say,....."*
Jesus taught them to pray by asking them to pray.
You teach people to pray by asking them to pray
People ask you to teach them to pray when they notice your powerful prayer life.
Jesus' disciples had seen Jesus prayer life.
You can not give what you do not have.
People who do not pray can not role model others.
The disciples noticed Jesus' powerful prayer life. He not only taught them how to pray, He also gave them a model and a pattern.
The model is the 'Lord's prayer, the pattern is in form of God's holiness, the Kingdom of God (provision, forgiveness, and protection) and its righteousness ref Lk 11:1-4, Matt 6:33.
For any prayer, to be effective, it must align to God's Kingdom and will.
It must reflect surrendering personal desires to God's perfect plan.
A prayer that the perfect will of God
be established in human hearts and society as perfectly as it is in heaven.
When you believe in God's Kingdom, you will pray it. When you pray it you will have it because you believe in it.
Rom 10:1 tells us about the power of mouth confession as key to salvation.
*For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation,*
When you speak out what you believe in your heart, it will lead to a complete salvation experience.
The Lord's prayer, not only require Kingdom expectations of provisions and protection from God but also individual participation.
"*And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us.*, Lk 11:4.
Pray what you do and do what you pray.
A praying man will pray what he wishes God would do for him and will pray he does the same to others.
He knows if he does not forgive, God will not forgive him.
Therefore teaching a person how to pray by asking them to pray will teach that the person who prays will stop sinning.
If he wants the mercy of God, he must show mercy to others too, Matt 5:7.
He will pray to do all things whatsoever he would that men should do to him, ref Matt 7:12.
A person who does not need God will not pray. A person who needs God will pray.
A person who is taught to pray by praying will establish a communication line with God. Teaching him to pray is teaching him to love God and stop sinning.
*Remorse corner.*
While interceeding for others is good, teaching people to pray by asking them to pray will teach them to pray for themselves and others.
*Call to Word action.*
A praying man will stop sinning. Desire to learn how to pray by praying.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
A sining man will stop praying. Desire never to forsake or neglect prayer by praying not to fall into temptation, Matt 6:13; 26:31.
*Prayer.*
Lord teach me how to pray by praying, in Jesus name.
Good morning all and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
Shalom.
