*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*JESUS (9).*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Mark 8:22-26

*And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.*

*And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought.*

*And he looked up, and said, I see men as trees, walking.*

*After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.*

*And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor tell it to any in the town.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Jesus' miracle may atimes not be instant but progressive.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

The bible again records another instance of Jesus' miracle by His spit.

John 9: 1-7 records the healing of a man born blind when Jesus spat on the ground and mix His spit with the mud healing the blind man instantly.

Mark 8: 22-26 records Jesus' healing of another blind man. In this gospel, He spat on the man's eyes but in John He spat on the ground. Both achieved the same results but the later was instant, the former was progressive.

In both cases, Jesus teaches us how He works and how these could encourage our expectation of Him.

The initial response in Mark was, the man saw people, but they look like trees walking around.

In the follow up, Jesus touches his eyes again, and the man's sight is fully restored.

Most likely the man saw before he became blind because he could know or recognize what trees looked like or probably through people's description of trees or knowledge through touch etc but this healing as recorded in the gospel of Mark teaches us that Jesus' power is controlled and works in His own time, sometimes progressively.

We must not compare the pace of another person's healing with ours or others.

Comparing with others has made people grow weary and lose faith and hope.

2 Cor 10:12 *For we dare not number ourselves, or compare ourselves, with some who commend themselves. For in measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, they are not wise.*

Furthermore, just because you are still feeling pain though you are praying over the ailment does not mean God is not working. Some healings are in progess though we still feel some pain and in God's own time the healing will perfect itself.

Jesus' follow up with a second touch on the blind man in Mark teaches us that God will not give up on a healing He has made up His mind to give.

It further teaches us to respect and honour Jesus' power to heal. He has the power to control His works.

He may choose to heal some but not all, (attimes due to unbelief Matt 13:58).

Those whom He has not healed may not be anyone less than those He healed.

In 2 Cor 12, though Paul was not healed, he was in no way lesser than those Jesus healed.

Some remain in their infirmities either for God to humble them, 2 Cor 12:1-8, or may be age related, (Elisha in 2 Kings 13:14) or they may remain in their infirmities so that He may glorify Himself in their infirmities, John 9:1-3.

God works in mysterious ways that are beyond any human's brain but we know God hears us when we pray and He will do as He pleases.

*Remorse corner.*

Our healing often develops over time, not instantly, Mark 8: 22:26

*Call to Word action.*

Our healing often comes instantly not over time, John 9:1-7

*The Christian clarion duty.*

When we pray to Christ for healing we can be assured that all who call upon Him for healing will receive help according to His will for them.

*Prayer.*

Lord, please heal me instantly when l call in Jesus name.

Good morning all and be blessed as you go today.

God bless you.

Shalom.
