*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*JESUS (8)*
*Scripture Treasure.*
John 9:1-7
*And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.*
*And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?*
*Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.*
*I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.*
*As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.*
*When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,*
*And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Jesus has no limitations. There is nothing beyond Him and everything is at His command and disposal.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Perhaps one of the most discussed, and unexplainable to the human mind but circumstantial and shows the mystery of God's supernatural ways is Jesus' use of the mud (spit mixed with dirt) to anoint a man blind from birth in John 9.
At the scene of the healing, Jesus only *".....spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,* John 9:6.
Those who often expect Christ's miracle in the most expected ways may attimes miss out.
Those who often expect Christ's miracle in the most spectacular ways may attimes miss out on the spiritual or the supernatural.
Jesus healed in so many ways not following previous mode by choosing to perform miracles in different ways.
The healing in John 9 draws a parallel expression with Gen 2:7 when God *"....formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.*
The healing of the blind man was on the Sabbath when the law said no one ought to do any work.
Jesus demonstrated divine power over physical and traditional limitations
The Pharisees conflicted mercy with tradition but Jesus informed them through the healing that mercy superseded their traditions,
Jesus informed them by His act that mercy of God can come through unthinkable, unimaginable and ordinary elements.
The act of Jesus' healing of the blind man with the spittle in the mud teaches us about humility and divine miracles.
Though the man could not see, but to heal with a spittle and a mud may lead to someone asking just like Naaman if there were no better ways to heal (2 Kgs 5).
Paul says all we need to please and receive from God is faith, Heb 11:6, how He will do it is beyond us as long as the healing comes.
Naaman almost lost a miracle out of pride.
Everyone needing Christ's touch must shun their pride.
*Remorse corner.*
Christ is without limit. He is rich in all things and can show you mercy through unexpected people or ways.
*Call to Word action.*
Divine power supersedes anything and everything.
*The Christian clarion duty.*
When Christ works miracles, all natural order, human order, human laws etc are suspended.
*Prayer.*
Lord do not let me miss Your miraculous divine visitation in Jesus name.
Good morning all and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
Shalom.
