*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*JESUS (4).*

*Scripture Treasure.*

John 1:4-9

*In him was life; and the life was the light of men.*

*And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.*

*There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.*

*The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.*

*He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.*

*That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

The only privilege God has given us is to bear witness of Him not to search His divine existence.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

John says that John the Baptist was sent (chosen) by God to bear witness to Jesus as the Light. John says John *"......was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.*

Jesus's divine nature, preeminence, existence, are often subjects of human questions.

So many questions are asked about Jesus.

Some say He came from God, John 3:2.

Some say He was just a mere carpenters son, Matt 13:55, Mk 6:3.

Some say His miracles are not by the Spirit of God, Matt 12:27, Lk 11:19.

Some mistook His identity for Elias, John the Baptist, Jeremias and the prophets, Matt 16:13-19.

Most troubling is the question of where God is, where is He from, where was He before the beginning of Genesis etc.

His declaration of His appearance to Moses that He would *"......cover thee with my hand while I pass by:* *And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.*

(Exd 33:22-23) tells us that God has an image, character of a personhood of whom we share as human beings, Gen 1:26-28.

For those wishing to know or discover God more than what He has revealed to us from the scriptures, they need to know the following.

Firstly, those who would not know or accept Jesus as Saviour and a revealer of God (John 1:18) can not wish to ever know anymore more than what has been revealed to them

Secondly, if man could know where God can be seen and found God will cease to be God.

Thirdly if human can find out where God was before He created the heavens and the earth, God will cease to be God.

God is not bound by time or space.

Our finite knowledge can not find the infiniteness of God.

Fourthly, the creator is always greater than the created. He imparted His creation with life, knowledge, wisdom and all good and perfect gift (Jam 1:17).

He has imparted us with wisdom that can not go beyond a certain limit so how do God's searcher hope to get the knowledge of where God dwells or where He was before creation or from where He came from.

A finite human can not find out an infinite God.

The Jews were furious when Jesus told them He had been before Abraham. They said He had blasphemed. John 8:58.

People who could not find out what they can not find out about God will blaspheme God, ( ref Psalm 14:1.

We can not find God out (Rom 11:33) but we can bear witness of Him. This is our whole duty, Matt 28:19-20.

*Remorse corner.*

Those who do not accept Jesus are questioning His divine essence. They are striving with their maker.

Isaiah 45:9 *Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?*

*Call to Word action.*

Deut 29:29 *The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Rom 11:33 *O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!*

*Prayer.*

Lord help me to bear witness to You and Your gospel. Though no man has ever seen You, help me to see You through the works of Your hands, both in my life and around me, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.

Shalom.
