*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*JESUS (10).*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Mark 7:31-37 *And again, departing from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.*

*And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him.*

*And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue;*

*And looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.*

*And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.*

*And he charged them that they should tell no man: but the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal they published it;*

*And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Jesus knows our individual needs and as much as He can heal a multitude, He knows and deal with us individually.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Jesus, again, teaches us how He deals with each individual though in a public gathering.

The healing of the man that was deaf, who had an impediment of speech and how Jesus took him aside from the multitude teach us that Jesus is not after fame or public spectacle or display.

Unlike some today who stage miracles by preseting cameras to premeditate miracles, He separated the man from the large crowd for a private interaction.

Jesus realizes we have different needs, challenges, ailments etc and this encounter teaches us that Jesus treats everyone He would heal following a separate and interactive encounter with the individual though unseen to the physical eyes.

There is nothing unreachable and untouchable to Him.

He repairs, replaces and restores any organ in our bodies as He considers necessarily to do.

This is the third instance of Jesus' use of uniqueness: His spit to heal.

Jesus, along with His spit, put His fingers in the man's ears, spat, and touched his tongue, saying *"......Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.* thus restoring his hearing and speech.

This healing and the healing in John 9:1-7 were instant but the healing of Mark 8:22-26 was progressive.

The healings in these two gospels also teach us that each of the parts of our bodies can receive personal encounters from Jesus. He is able to apply His saliva to the afflicted body part, often the ears, tongue, or eyes, sometimes with mud or after laying on hands, to restore hearing, speech, and sight, respectively.

All three healings by His spittle teach us of different and symbolic ways Jesus heals.

Some come by His words, (Psalm 107:20, Isaiah 9:8), some by His spittle, some by touch, some by touching Him, Matt 9:20-22, Mk 5:25-34, and Lk 8:43-48.

Symbolic to Jesus' healing is that His touches, physical presence are always a prelude to His commands.

For example, He saw Lazarus' body and He followed it by a command to *".....come out...."*, John 11:43.

Also symbolic to Jesus' teachings is that His compassion is a prelude to His healing In Matt 9:36, 14:14, Mk 6:34, 9:36, His healing is driven by compassion, He was moved in compassion to heal.

We can be sure that when we come to Jesus, each of us will receive an individual encounter with attention to our personal and internal needs.

Jesus knows all about our struggles.

Have called on Him today?

*Remorse corner.*

Every part of Jesus serves as answers to our medicinal/health or any kind of problems through the power of His word.

*Call to Word action.*

Though we may gather in a crowd or in a crusade, Jesus attends to each individual personally and according to their needs.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Though Jesus attends to each individual according to their needs, each organ or part of our bodies receives a direct contact.

*Prayer.*

Lord, please have a personal encounter with me today, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and be blessed as you come into His presence today.

God bless you.

Shalom.
