Psalm 118:17 *I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.*
*Scripture Commentaries.*
God sustains His people on the principle of substitution.
The psalmist says in 118:17 that God substitutes death for our life.
In Exd 12, in order to keep the Israelites alive, God slayed the Egyptians.
In the book of Esther, God took Haman's life away for Esther, Modecai, and the Jewish nation to live.
It may appear unfair to some to say God gives a person away to die instead of his own child but God himself showed it was possible through Jesus who died in our place in order to pacify God's anger on us, 2 Cor 5:14, 1 John 2:2.
As evil strives every day to consume as many as it could, God also protects those whom He will preserve and protect.
Believe it or not, God sustains our lives by the death of evil people. God kills evil people so that we can live. When wicked people die, people are relieved, they are happy.
Prov 11:10 says *"..... when the wicked perish, there is shouting."*
God preserves us, though our lives are threatened by death, yet we walk into danger, Ps 23:4, but we walk out of it as if nothing had happened.
You must always remember the goodness of God knowing that when evil consumes someone, it could have been you, but God says 'No'!
In life, we must always remember to thank God and refuse to complain and be bitter over what we prayed for but could not have or have not had.
We must reflect at the end of the day how God had helped us to see the end of another day.
If only we could see what might have happened if God had not intervened, we would appreciate Him more.
There are many things in a day alone that God does to help and protect us, but we do not see or know.
Jesus tells us that there is an evil sufficient for a day, Matt 6:34. This tells us that Satan has a mission, and this is why evil must happen, and it does happen.
People take other people's lives as if they could give life. A person could determine how long a fellow human being could live when he could not create the life he wanted to eliminate. The scriptures refer to them as murderers.
There are those they do not kill but who live life as dead people.
As much as you hold your life precious, it does not mean anything to the wicked. It is only in Jesus that the wicked could fall into the pit they have dug for you, Ps 35:7-9 and Psalm 141:10.
Evil news is a money rolling industry. Our news breaks more evil than good, but the more evil in a day has not reduced God's power to maintain the universe and to replenish it.
So, no matter what the level or the height of evil may be, God has the power to preserve you.
He has power over all things, Matt 28:18.
Do you value living?
When last did you gather your family morning and night to pray?
Do not pay too much attention to life than you will give to God.
No matter how you serve life, life will one day take its toil on you. Jesus never does but would rather give you life abundantly.
Do not live your life as if you own it.
Do not live your life without the Giver of life, Jesus.
*Remorse corner.*
Life has become a privilege, not a right.
It is only in Christ that life is a right.
*Call to Word action.*
John 10:10 *The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
It is not time for you to die, but you can prevent not to die before your time by giving your time and life to the one who is able to keep you alive.
*Prayer.*
Lord save me from untimely death. Let me live and not die that l may fulfill the plan of God for my life in Jesus name.
Good morning, and a happy new month to you all. It is our month of *ABUNDANT LIFE.*
God bless you.
