I AM A TURNAROUND FOR A COMEBACK.
*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*I AM A TURNAROUND FOR A COMEBACK!*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Gen 41:50 *And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Ecclesiastes 7:1 *A good name is better than precious ointment;...."*
*Scripture Commentaries.*
In all his estimated 13 years of troubles and imprisonment, Joseph was not only faithful to God but also expressed God's faithfulness by the names he gave his children.
He had two sons.
Gen 41: 51-52 *And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.*
*And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.*
These names tell us that Joseph thrived and came out stronger than the problems he went through.
He was like the Apostle Paul who pressed forward, forgetting those things that were in the past, Phillipians 3:13.
Not many people give their children names that eulogize the faithfulness of God after they have gone through challenges.
We see in the lives of the mothers of Jabez and Benomi , but later called Benjamin (1 Chron 4:9, Gen 35:18).
They vent their agony on an innocent, newly born by putting their sorrows in a name that may hunt the child and many generations to come.
Do not input or invoke your present or past life's troubles on your child.
Joseph continued in his faithfulness by the names he gave his sons despite all his agonies.
Let us take a cue from this.
Open a new book of good prospects by naming that child in the faithfulness of God .
The child does not have to bear a name that brings back to memory, your toil, and hardship.
The newly born is not a carryover of the problems or setbacks you have faced but a turnaround for a comeback.
Your name is a turnaround for a comeback! (ref Gen 32:28).
Therefore, celebrate God, not your past problems, through a name that gives glory to Him!
*Remorse corner.*
Every child born is a bundle of joy, a new beginning, and old things have passed away.
*Call to Word action.*
Isaiah 43:19 *Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Remember, Proverbs 22:1 *A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, loving favor rather than silver and gold.*
*Prayer.*
Lord, let my name glorify Your faithfulness.
Change names to names that glorify You, in Jesus name.
Good morning, all, and be blessed as you come into His presence.
God bless you.
