HE THAT LOVES ANOTHER

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.* *HE THAT LOVES ANOTHER......"* *Scripture Treasure.* 2 Kgs 6: 21-23–►  *And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them?* *And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.* *And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel.* *Insight and Highlight.* Romans 13:8–► *Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.* *Scripture Commentaries.* Elisha was a man of prayer. He showed a prime example of a balanced spiritual life: that is, the spiritual ability to balance prayer and love. In our text of today his life teaches us: First when to pray to win and when to love to win. Second, he shows us that those who pray to God must never habor hatred or hold grudges. There are times when love is the only thing we need to show to be more than conquerors over our enemies. When he had the power to destroy, Elisha applied love and it worked to stop the oppressor from warring against Israel again. The king of lsrael saw that the host of the Syrians were now captured and he sought Elisha that he may destroy them. Elisha however advised that great provision be made available for the Syrians. After the provisions had been made to them and when they had eaten and merry, they were sent away. As a result of this show of love, the scriptures record, *"....the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel."* A little moment of love can save to work vengeance and deliverance faster than a long prayer with a hateful heart. *Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God* (Matthew 5:8). Are your prayers unanswered? Search your heart. *Remorse corner.* Many prayers go unanswered because they were said with hateful hearts to God instead of, in love. *Call to Word action.* 1 Cor 13:1 ---► *Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.* *The Christian clarion duty.* Those who pray do not hate others. Rom 13:8--► *"....he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law."* *Prayer* Psalm 19:14–► *Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.*, in Jesus name. Good morning all and have a blessed day today. God bless you.
