*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*HE CONQUERED DEATH!*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Isaiah 42:3 *A bruised reed shall he not break and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

God restored Jesus today.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Jesus, the bruised reed was not broken off but rose to sit at the right hand of the Father. Jesus, the smoking fax was not quenched but became the Light of the world.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

The sun breaks through the clouds today for every believer. It is sunrise and sunbreak. We have hope and sure anchor of our soul, Heb 6:19.

Jesus, a bruised reed, literally was not broken into pieces. John 19:33  *But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:*

However, Jesus suffered emotional damage. Before His death on the cross, His Father forsook Him, Matt 27:46.

At Gethsemane, He experienced intense emotional and spiritual stress.

Luke 22:44 tells us of Jesus' sweat as resembling blood, falling to the ground, during his intense agony in the Garden.

In Isaiah 42:3 God's promise is that He will not crush or further damage His bruised reed but will instead restore them.

This was what He did for Jesus, and we celebrate this today.

Acts 10:40 says *Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly;*

The battered Lion slept yesterday to rise today and roar forever more.

He conquered death!

Of all life's eventualities, death is the most fearful.

Of all the reasons why people worry in life, death is number one. It ranks as the top reason why people cry, or any have emotional outbursts.

We pray against death, but it is inevitable. We were born for it, ref Heb 9:27.

Jesus did not come to annul death, but He came to destroy its power. The grave will not hold us down forever.

The power of death is to scare us, frighten us.

The object of death is to end all things or to be the end of all things but Christ came to tell us that it is the beginning of a life of God as God planned it from the beginning.

In destroying the power and influence of death Jesus tells us *"And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.*, Matt 10:28.

Death only kills the body. Of all the three components constituting the whole

person, only the spirit and the soul and are indestructible and survive death either to live in heaven , Rev 6:9, 20:4 or in hell, Ps 16:10, Matt 16:26.

Jesus's body was wrapped up in linen cloth and was anointed with spices like myrrh and aloes, John 19:38-40.

Today, ressurection Sunday marks how our body will receive a transformation as Jesus's body to live and never die again as Jesus lives forevermore, 1 Cor 15:53.

Jesus's ressurection teaches us that though we lost some of our dominion to Satan, death and the grave, those who die in Christ will regain their dominion and will question the dominion of death and the grave asking:

*O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?*

*The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.*, 1 Cor 15:54-55.

Today His resurrection gives us the confidence to say *"......thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.* 1 Cor 15:57.

Accept Jesus today!

*Remorse corner.*

Do you want to see Jesus on ressurection morning?

*Call to Word action.*

If you wish to be raised as Jesus was raised *".......be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.* 1 Cor 15:58.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

The Lamb that was slain is the Lamb that sits on the throne. The Lamb rose on the first day of the week, Sunday.

Sunday, therefore, remains our day of liberation in Christ (compared Exd 20:8-11 and Matt 28:1.

*Prayer.*

Lord, let the ressurection power of Jesus rest on me in Jesus name.

Good morning, all, and be blessed as you come into His presence.

Happy Easter!

God bless you.
