HAPPY ART THOU, O ISRAEL....

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*HAPPY ART THOU, O ISRAEL....*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Numbers 23:10 *Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Genesis 32:28 *And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.*

*Scripture Commentaries.*

A nation, a people of God, Israel of God may be besieged. It can, however, never be moved.

God says Jerusalem (city of God) shall be forever just like the mountains that surround it.

He used His protection over the everlasting Jerusalem to illustrate the enduring love for the righteous, Psalm 125.

The importance of Israel and the city of Jerusalem can not be overemphasized.

God has chosen Jerusalem as the name for the eternal rest of His righteous. He calls it the New Jerusalem, Rev 21:2.

Israel is indestructible.

Deuteronomy 33:29 *Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.*

They also have power with God, and they always prevail in any battle with the children of men.

The battle may be fierce, but Israel will walk over it. God has their backs.

God said about Israel that He would kill to secure Israel their freedom from the Egyptians, Exd 4:23.

God told Balaam that he could not curse Israel because He had blessed them.

By this revelation, Balaam told King Balak that even if Israel was divided into four part, they would be as many as if they had not been divided. They are numerous as the dust of the earth.

The prophet wished his death would be like

theirs. Despite their failings before God, they are counted righteous. God said He has found no sin in Jacob, and neither has He found iniquity in Israel, Numb 23:21.

Despite a captivity of over 430 years (Exd 12: 40-41), their generations multiplied, Exd 1:9.

Despite Pharaoh's directives to kill all male children *....the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.* Exd 1:20

Nations like Babylon, Sodom and Gomorah Medes and Persians are no longer to be heard because God made them extinct.

The bible records that the nation Israel has been under siege since the days of Pharaoh but had survived and outlived the nations that besieged them.

It is the only nation that is named in conjuction with God. Whichever name chosen to call God either God of Israel (Exd 4:23, 1 Kgs 8:23), or call Israel by the name of God, namely, Israel of God (Gal 6:16) or both.

God can not die, so a nation or people God chose to be named after Him can not die.

God says of His chosen as the Israel of God who belong to the Commonwealth of Israel that death has no sting on them, 1 Cor 15:56-57.

Fighting Israel is fighting God, 1 Sam 4-6, 7:1

Choose wisely who to fight.

*Remorse corner.*

God is the strength of Israel, 1 Sam 15:29

*Call to Word action.*

Deut 33:29  *Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

He is a Man of war!

Exd 15:3 *The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.*

*Prayer.*

O Lord, fight my battles for me, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
