*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*HAPPY ARE YOU.*
Psalm 144:15 *Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Jesus wants to make you happy and joyful.
Christ wants to make us happy. Happiness may be subject to conditions that bring it to us, but it is still God's plan for us to be happy.
In as much as He wants to make us happy, He delights in our joy. Joy is unconditional, and whether or not things are right, the joy of the Lord is God's plan for us.
God wants happiness and joy to be part of us.
He does not want sorrow or trouble for us, so He wants us to counterclaim with trust in Him and prayers, ref John Matt 26: 48, 14:1.
There is a place for happiness, and there is a place for joy for as long as we are not riddled with sadness.
Deut 33:29 says *Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the Lord,....*
In Psalms 146:5, the psalmist says *Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:*
James 5:11 says *Behold we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.*
Ps 144:15 says *Happy is that people, that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.*
Joy takes its place when we see God as we ought to see Him as good God, come what may rather than be sad when He does not give us something to be happy about.
Nehemiah, in spite of his challenges, ascribed his victory and peace to the joy He has in God as a good God who is able to give him strength whichever way life treats him.
He encouraged the people not to feel sad. He encouraged people to give to people who have nothing.
*Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.*
God is greater than any situation.
Whatever life throws at you, God is larger than life.
Drive the devil mad.
Be happy and be joyful.
God has made us in such a way that joy and humor are meant to be vital parts of our lives, Eccl 8:15.
Be happy and joyful that you are alive.
It is the plan and purpose of God for you!
Whether you are happy or joyful, just make sure you are not sad with yourself and your Maker.
*Call to Word action.*
Do not make yourself sick by being sad.
Proverbs 17:22 says, *“A joyful heart is good" medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.”*

1 Thess 5:18 *In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.*
