GUARD AGAINST UNGUARDED UTTERANCES. (4)

Isa 50:11 Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.

Insight and Highlight

Prov 16:27 An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips, there is as a burning fire.


Scripture Commentaries

Nabal dug a pit for his sons by his utterance, which he could have avoided.

The entire family could have lied down in sorrow but for Abigail's careful intervention, ref 1 Sam 25.

By loose and unguarded utterances sparked off many years ago, many families are still fighting warfare today.

Curses do not operate without a cause, so also curses will come if there is a reason for it to operate, ref Prov 26:1-2.

There is a saying that whosoever knows how to hide something must remember those who know how to find things.

Evil seed of the tongue planted in the ground will find its way to the open.

Everyone can speak harshly but the wise hold their tongue, Prov 10:14

Job 4:8 As I have observed, those who plow iniquity and those who sow trouble reap the same.

Separate yourself unto Godly and wise utterances.

Do not kindle a spark through your loose tongue, neither should you walk in its fire, avoid sorrow for yourself and others, fear God, ref Isaiah 50:11.

Sorrow shall not be our portion, in Jesus' name.


Remorse corner

Do not plant evil by your unguarded utterances.


Call to Word action

There is enough evil every day, ref Matt 6:34. Therefore, we ought, not by our unguarded tongues add more to an already bad situation.


The Christian clarion duty

Avoid lips that treasure up fire.


Prayer

Lord let me not, by my utterance destroy my destiny, in Jesus' name.
