GOD'S SEED OR MEATS FOR THE BELLY?
*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*GOD'S SEED OR MEATS FOR THE BELLY?*
*Scripture Treasure.*
1 John 3:9 *Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.*
*Insight and Highlight*
1 John 3:10 *This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.*
*Scripture Commentaries*
God gives *".....seed to the sower and bread for food,...."*, 2 Cor 9:10.
A good farmer does not eat his seed. He sows it. He is thus reffered to as the sower. He differentiates it from the bread for food. He knows there is a seed to sow and a bread to eat.
God does not want us to negotiate the seed in us. The seed is God’s presence, His life quickening Spirit. This is to guide us, remind us and to help us resist sin.
For the child of God in whom this seed is, the seed is deemed to mean, *"by God's grace, he cannot sin"*
There is a possibility of losing God's seed, if we are careless. Many careless believers may have traded this seed for food, 1 Cor 6:13, Gen 25:34. They, as a result lost God's seed and His presence.
The seed that should multiply was lost and replaced by *"meats for the belly, and the belly for meats:...."*, opening the door for God to *"....destroy both it and them."*.
Do you have God's seed in you or the belly that craves for sin?
What is in you?
The seed that resists sin or the belly that sucks sin?
*Remorse corner.*
Do you still have God's seed in you or meats for the belly?
*Call to Word action.*
1 Cor 6:13 *Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
If you see your body has been after the works of the flesh rather than for the Lord, God's seed has departed. Repent today.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me so that l do not lose Your seed in me. Let Your seed abide with me to the end, in Jesus name.
Good morning all and be blessed as you come into His presence, today.
God bless you.
