*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*GOD'S PRESENCE (3).*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Psalm 46:1 *God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

God will not hear the prayers of the sinner.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Yesterday, we looked at how and why God would restrain His providential care in the midst of our troubles.

In answering this, we gave answers under the first of two illustrations.

First is that God restrains His providential care when He remains quiet for reasons of His resentment to an abomination.

Second is ability to remain quiet to achieve a divine purpose.

Today we will continue with the first.

The following reasons will further help.

First is 1 Sam 28:6 which tells us when God will not talk. He will not talk when sin is present. Saul was in disobedience.

*And when Saul enquired of the Lord, the Lord answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.*

Second, Isaiah 59:1-3 tells us when God will not listen

*Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:*

*But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.*

*For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.*

Third, Prov 15:29 tells us those He will not hear. *The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.*

John 9:31 *Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.*

God listens more to the prayers of the righteous than those of the wicked.

Isaiah 1:15

*And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.*

Sin creates a barrier between a person and God, and that one's actions, motives, and relationship with God are important factors in whether a prayer is heard and answered.

He will not hear the prayers of the sinner but He hears the sinner's prayer of confession and repentance.

*Remorse corner.*

God will not hear the prayers of the sinner.

*Call to Word action.*

He will not be a refuge and strength to those who do not trust in Him.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

God's presence is a guarantee of God's faithfulness. Faithfulness to God guarantees His presence in our times of trouble.

*Prayer.*

Lord, let my faithfulness to You speak for me in my times of trouble, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.

Shalom.
