*GOD, OUR CONSUMING FIRE.*
*Scripture Treasure.*Exd 13:21-22*And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:**He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.*
*Insight and Highlight.*There is nothing that God can not destroy as a consuming fire (Gen 2:19, 28, 2 Pet 3:7)
*Scripture Commentaries.*God led the children of Israel in the form of a pillar that had the appearance of smoke and of fire day night. When the pillar moved, the people moved, wherever it went, the people followed, Exd 13:21-22.This was a form of God as the consuming fire.This was to protect the people and a clear warning to the Egyptian that if they came near, the fire would consume them.God consumes people in His anger, Ps 59:3. His anger is described in the form of burning, Exd 32:10.The fire that consumes is God the consuming fire.When God wants to consume an enemy, He makes him/her a stubble, no matter what stature the person has, Obadiah 1:8.The cosuming fire consumes absolutely. When God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, what was left was the smoke of the country that went up as the smoke of a furnace, Gen 19:28.Those who do not fear God are at a very high risk of this Holy Fire.Those who belong to God are assured that they have God as the consuming fire who will consume their enemies and problems by fire.Always remember that we are confidently assured of God's vengeance over our enemies through the consuming fire, Deut 9:3.
*Remorse corner.*God is the consuming fire.Heb 12: 29 *For our God is a consuming fire.*
*Call to Word action.*Obadiah 1:18 ►*And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*Fire will raze down a highrise to the ground, and there would be nothing remaining.
*Prayer.*Lord destroy by holy fire every mountain of problems in my life, in Jesus name.
