GOD, NEITHER SLUMBER NOR SLEEP

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*GOD, NEITHER SLUMBER NOR SLEEP.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Psalm 121:4  *Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

God cannot sleep neither can He slumber.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

God's sovereignty and the power to do all things without any form of hinderances is best explained in His sleeplessness and sluberlessness throughout all ages.

He is never tired or weary.

Gen 2:2 says *"...God ended his work which he had made;..."* but He did not end all work. John 5:17 tells us *"But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work."*

His on going work is seen in our Scripture of today, He has chosen neither to sleep nor slumber so that you and l are protected. It is His unique attribute not shared with any of his creatures in His creations. He is in time and beyond time.

It is a disease not to be able to sleep.

People are on medication in order to facilitate sleep.

God knows the importance of sleep. He gives it to His beloved, Ps 127:2

Watchmen, security men, vigilantes are said to watch in vain if God does not watch over the city, Ps 121:1.

For the reason of God's sleeplessness, watching over us, we can confidently speak as the psalmist in 27:1, a Psalm of David. *The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?*

This tells us that the God who keeps a live watch uninterrupted surpasses gods and dumb idols who go to sleep, 1 Kgs 18:27,

and fall over, 1 Sam 5.

If God does not slumber or sleep to watch over you, if God did not spare His only Son, what then can He not freely give you?

*Remorse corner*

We wake from our sleep because He does not slumber nor sleep.

*Call to Word action.*

Ps 3:5 *I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

While you are sleeping, He keeps watch over you. What an amazing sacrifice of love. What will you sacrifice for God?

*Prayer.*

Lord, l thank you for watching over me and my family. I am grateful, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
