GOD (9).

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*GOD (9).*

*Scripture Treasure.*

John 9:29 *We know that God spoke to Moses, but as for this fellow, we don’t even know where he comes from.”*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Disbelieving who God is did not start today but believing God can start today.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

The human mind, if unguarded, can be the worst enemy of man, ref Prov 4:23.

Today, we will further look at two reasons why atheist and unbelievers are hardened and how they can find help in God's plan of salvation.

First, the problem with the human mindset is that they never believe anything miraculous is the work of the Supreme God.

Tradition and a long handed down worship of idols and mosaic law void of the Spirit was a problem. These possessed their minds.

The early atheist and unbelievers believed Jesus cast out demons by the god, Beelzebub, Matt 12:27-29.

In Acts 28:4-5, after Paul had shaken off the beast, the barbarous people of Malta set their eyes on Paul looking to see if he would fall down suddenly and die, but after they had looked and seen that no harm came on him, they said that he was a god.

Demonic or activities of gods may possess minds, but they must never be ascribed glory that is due to God and God only, ref Isaih 42:8.

God will not allow His works to be attributed to a false god. Paul said an idol is *“.....nothing at all in this world...”* 1 Cor 8:4.

The people in Jesus's days who did not ascribe glory to idols would rather ascribe glory to just anything as long as it is not to God.

Second, besides the corruption in the human heart, Jesus also points us to the importance of what we see.

No matter how a mind is possessed, Jesus teaches that what an atheist or unbeliever sees could help him/her to believe God, if he/she sees right, ref Mark 8: 22-25.

In John 9, a boy born blind was made to see by Jesus.

The Jews saw that his eyes were now opened. His neighbors who knew he was blind were astonished. The once blind man identified himself, and after they asked who opened his eyes, he said it was *A man that is called Jesus...* v 11.

There was a dispute between the people. They knew who Moses was, but Jesus, they said , *".....we know not from whence he is.*, v 29.

In John 9:30, the once blind man answered, *“Now that is remarkable! You don’t know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes.*

In John 9:32, they said, *"Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind."*

In John 9: 33, the man further said, *If this man were not of God, he could do nothing."*

They cast the boy whose eyes were opened out, but because he had seen the power of God, his conversion and healing were quick.

The boy did not know or believe the Son of God.

He asked Jesus, *".....Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?*

Jesus said to him *".....Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.*

The boy believed, immediately, John 9: 34-39.

Many who are atheist and unbelievers today are so because they have not seen ir submitted to the power of God.

Furthermore, Jesus, in His dialogue and the encounter of the once blind man, with the Jews teaches us the dismal effect of people who could see yet are unable to see right.

In John 9:39, Jesus concluded, saying ,*"For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.*

By this, Jesus was saying that those who do not see sin as sin must be made to see it as sin. In other words, though they do not see it as sin, He has come to make them see it as sin.

Those who see sin and recognize it will be helped to see sin as it is. In other words, they are helped to blind their eyes to it, the more. By this, they will have no sin.

This is God's will for those who do not believe in the existence of God.

Though they are taught to believe God does not exist, they must blind their eyes to this conclusion.

He wants them to be blind to their sinful beliefs.

You do not have to be one of those who do not believe in the existence of God.

You can come to Jesus today!

*Remorse corner.*

Jesus teaches that if you see sin but blind your eyes and you do not go into it, then you will not sin!

*Call to Word action.*

Only those who are blind to heresy are free from the sin of atheism and unbelief.

John 9:40-41 *And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?*

*Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

We must teach Jesus is the Revelation of God's redemptive purpose. He is not an abberation. He is One with the Father and the Holy Spirit.

*Prayer.*

Lord, cure people's ignorance or their refusal to accept knowledge in the Holy Spirit, in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
