2 Sam 21:19-21 *And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.*

*And there was yet a battle in Gath, where was a man of great stature, that had on every hand six fingers, and on every foot six toes, four and twenty in number; and he also was born to the giant.*

*And when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea the brother of David slew him.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Evil and wicked people multiply but righteous must earnestly pray for their end. Remember, for every giant oppressor there is a Kingdom giant suppressor and killer.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

The Philistines, after the defeat of Goliath in 1 Sam 17, did not cease to defy Israel.

After their defeat, bible records a general mutation of giants expressed in hereditary gigantism. They were then growing six fingers and as it is also today, more giants were miltiplied. This was expressed as new variation entered the genes of Goliath.

Three times in 1 Chron 20:4-6, there were three wars:

First at *"...Gezer with the Philistines; A giant *"....that was of the children of the giant:..."*

Second, *".. was war again with the Philistines;..."*the brother of Goliath the Gittite,...."*

Third was a *"...war at Gath,.."* with *"... a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot and he also was the son of the giant.*

Their slayers and giant killers were *"Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother..."* and other unidentified notable slayers who slew

conquered and subdued them 2 Sam 21: 13-22.

These giants *".....were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.*,, 1 Chron 20:8.

The same story is reflected 2 Sam 20: 15-22 and also concluded saying *These four were born to the giant in Gath, and fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.*

These account of the seed of Goliath tell us, evil multiply in order to perpetuate itself.

Therefore believers must wage war using all spiritual weapons available to them. We must earnestly pray and fight a good fight to put an end to evil.

We must be like the psalmist in Psalm 7:9 and pray *Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.*

When righteousness gains ground there will be less ground for evil to thrive.

Prov 29:16 *When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.*

Goliath's family tree is suggestive of a strong hereditary of evil and oppression. They seem to be dominant genes.

Carefully know your enemy and wisely consider their houses, Prov 22:12. Doing due dilligence will assure victory.

*Prayer.*

Prov 24:11: *The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.*, in Jesus name.
