*Scripture Treasure.*

Matthew 26:31 *Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

The shepherd was struck, and the sheep indeed scattered but were later gathered.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

When Jesus, the Shepherd, was struck (betrayed), the sheep (the disciples) were indeed scattered, John 14:43-49.

Jesus laid a solid foundation to the shepherds of His flock by the way He kept His head together at Gethsemane. He was very calm despite the great difficulties facing Him.

He did not resist the arrest by His betrayers and even exhorted His disciples not to hurt them. He called for calm, Luke 22:49-51.

The word of God for His betrayal and crucifixion helped Jesus. He forewarned about the day, and everything went as He had predictably spoken.

Being calm and having one's actions, thoughts, or emotions under control is great strength.

His arrest was a breakdown of the twelve disciples. They all fled, and *.....Peter followed afar off.* , Luke 22:54.

Our measure of strength is seen in how well we react or respond to and in time of adversity.

Prov 24:10 tells us that our strength is restricted if we grow weary in crisis.

Difficulties are challenging, and so are challenges difficult.

It was not a weakness for Jesus to humbly submit to His adversaries, but it was strength to do so. This, He did, so that we may be strengthened before God in a new and redemptive way.

If we are in God's will, we must know that whichever way, all things will work together for good.

God can not make a mistake. We do.

Whether or not we make mistakes, His will remains sovereign over His Church.

The enemy struck Jesus, but He remains indestructible. The enemy scattered the disciples, but they were gathered.

Jesus' word that *......they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us:...* was fulfilled. He showed Himself to the disciples, John 20:19.

How is your strength when difficulties rear up their ugly heads?

*Remorse corner.*

Difficulties could weaken the believer, but praying for strength in time of trouble is key to any Christian's victory.

*Call to Word action.*

Prov 24:10 says, *"If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Prov 14:1 *Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.*

Lord, increase my faith in time of trouble, in Jesus name.

Good morning, all, and be blessed as you come into His presence.

God bless you.
