*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*FAITH OF OLD (3).*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Mark 4:40 *And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Most people's faith is not real. Their faith is borrowed.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
When our faith in God is uncertain, it means we may likely fall into the danger of serving God for a limited time, and a decision to quit is inevitable.
We may daily be postponing our final departure because our faith is living on borrowed time.
It was not that Peter's faith was not real, but it became unreal.
Faith can be unreal if we depart from it and plunge to a fall.
Peter's faith was living on borrowed time. It was uncertain. It was for a limited time. His faith could not hold him, and as a result, the unexpected fall happened.
We must never allow our faith to shake. Though it can be tough and rough, we must know that true faith saves
Paul's word that we *"....earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.* is very strong and must be engraved in our hearts.
Faith tells us that what we are asking for is possible with God. A lack of faith is a lack of faith in God that He can not make possible the impossible.
Our world is uncertain, but God is certain. He is not doubtful.
The uncertainty of life has posed a major challenge to the Christian faith.
Besides faith facing the challenges of modernization, life's uncertainty has taken a new dimension in affecting the Christian faith.
Faith has now become fate. Destinies are no longer believed to be determined by God but by some forces, chance, luck, etc.
Faith has now become, heaven helps those who help themselves.
Those who have faith in prayer have become a target to those who call them lazy for being too dependent on God to do everything for them. They have been a target of ridicule.
Today, some so-called Christians do not see or serve God as if their lives depended on Him.
People do not see faith worth the while to wait in God. Faith is no longer praying to receive divine revelation. It is no longer fasting and prayer. Some people are now persuaded to pray rather than be inspired to pray.
We need the faith of old. The early church was built on it. We need it in order to survive the present attacks against our Christian faith.
*Remorse corner.*
There is nothing wrong with being known with the old time religion. God makes all things new. Follow Him as you hope to make the old new.
*Call to Word action.*
Jer 6:16 *Thus saith the Lord: “Stand ye in the highways and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way; and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk therein.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Faith of old is old but not outdated.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to successfully hold on to the faith that was once delivered unto the saints in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
