John 21:15-17 *So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.*


*Insight and Highlight.*

The true follower of Christ must love God regardless of whether he/she receives his/her requests or not, from God.


*Scripture Commentaries.*

The question of whether we love God is mostly found in times of our challenges.

Some people draw back when faced with life's problems.

When problems draw us back from God, we face the most danger of losing Him totally. Hebrew 10:38 says *Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.*

Some love God when all is well, but go back on Him when things are not well.

Many love God just because of receiving from Him, and many people's love is determined by what they receive or not from God.

To many, God is good, worthy of honor, and adoration when they receive from Him, but He is far from honor and adoration when they do not receive from Him.

Before God, Satan accuses the brethren of our conditional love for Jesus Job 1:9.

Peter went back to fishing in search of survival, but thank God he did not lose Jesus.

We must prove the devil wrong every day. We must love God more than what we receive from Him. We must love Him more than what we love to do.

We must love Him whether or not we receive from Him.

Why do you love God? Do you love Him for what you want to receive? Do you love Him more than what you love to do for yourself?

Those who love God always find a purpose of God in what they go through.

Lord, help me to love You above all others, in Jesus name.
