*DO YOU HAVE THE PEACE OF GOD?*

*Scripture Treasure.*

John 14:27 *Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

When you say you have peace, you need to know which kind of peace you have.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Though peace has one and only meaning, which is harmony and total absence of trouble, Jesus tells us that there is another form of peace.

He tells us in John 14:27 that there is a peace that He gives and the peace the world gives.

Let us look at both peace as Jesus indicated

Today, we will first look at the peace Jesus gives.

Jesus's word on His peace tells us the following:

First, peace is given by Christ. He is the Prince of Peace.

Second, peace, though given by Christ, may not be given if we do not ask for it.

Paul tells us that if we make our requests or petitions made known to God with a heart of thanksgiving, the peace of God will be available to us to guard our hearts and minds.

Philpns 4:6-7 *Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.*

*And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.*

So, if we do not pray, we will not have the peace Christ has freely given us.

One may wonder why the peace of God freely given us has to be earned through prayers.

This is because we are anxious in our quest for life's fulfilments, whereas Christ is telling us there is really nothing to be anxious of, Matt 6:34, Philpns 4:6

Third, the only security we have against fear and trouble is the peace of God. Jesus's word that our hearts be not troubled or fearful tells how important it is to have the peace of God.

Isa 66:12 tells us about the peace of God like a river. This means an ever, unceasing, unimpeded, and continual flowing peace, just as a river flows.

Regardless of circumstances, a river flows. It is calm and is not as temptuos or turbulent as an ocean.

Fourth, Christ is saying here that we can not live in the world He was leaving behind without His peace.

He was telling us by the peace He gave that every day will have trouble of its own.

The peace Jesus gave is peace in a world of storms. Peace in the midst of life's storms.

Just as He voluntarily gave His life, He also gave His peace.

Do you have the peace of God?

Ask for it today. It is the answer to all life's trouble.

*Remorse corner.*

Jesus's gift of peace was an indicator that we can not live in a world of everyday trouble without His peace.

*Call to Word action.*

You can not survive a day without the peace Jesus gave.

Matt 6;34 *Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Only in the peace that Christ gives us can we have a heart that is not troubled or fearful.

*Prayer.*

Lord, give me Your peace that passes all understanding in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
