*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*DO NOT LOSE YOUR IDENTITY.*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Acts 22:26-28
*When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman.*
*Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea.*
28 And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.
*Insight and Highlight.*
Paul, though a Roman, was not afraid, in the face of persecution, to say he was a Christian by encounter with Jesus (Acts 22:3-8, 15-22)
*Scripture Commentaries.*
In the world of today, the true identity of a child of God has been corrupted by wolves who appear in sheep skin.
By the horrifying activities of falsehood, true Christians have suffered neglect for lack of trust.
As a result, many Christians may not be bold to declare their citizenship.
By citizenship is meant, that you belong to Christ, ref Philp 3:20-21.
Never be afraid to say you are a Christian. Be confident to know who you are, 1 Cor 15:10.
If people want to go with you as a Christian, they would. If they choose not to go with you, let it be.
It is erroneous for believers to say they would rather choose unbelievers to work with than believers.
While Christians ought to maintain the good attributes of the true and good child of God, choosing not to have business's relation with fellow Christian is not the best decision for you as a believer and for fellow believers. It will not enhance the purpose behind Christian business fellowship or any form of Christian coexistence.
We must know that true Christians will not violate good Christian ethics.
If it ever happened that a Christian violates Christ ethics, he may not be what he claimed to be as a Christian in the first place. Something is wrong from the foundation.
We must know that Christians are prone to errors, and oftentimes, they may fall short of expectations.
Paul fell short of expectations. He saw himself exalted above measure. In 2 Cor 12:7, God allowed Satan to buffet him, but his fruit and gift of the Spirit remained intact in him as a true child of God.
God rebuked Peter in Acts 10:15.
Besides, who says members of other religious faith do not make business errors
Remember, always that a child of God will hold Christ ethics esteemed.
The best advice has always been that you need due diligence in your business transaction whether or not you are dealing with a Christian.
It should not be treated as a trust issue if a Christian tells another Christian that there is a need to do a business search. If you are searched and found suitable as a Christian, good. lf you are not found suitable, accept it with good faith. It is fundamental and biblically acceptable to search and do due diligence (Numb 13).
Every Christian must know that we have to keep Jesus's name in high esteem. To fail to do this is to erode the trust of other believers before fellow believers and unbelievers.
Let us be patient with dealing with each other.
We do not need to say we will not work with other believers. It is not Kingdom edifying.
The due diligence we need to do will help us to go into public available business records and/or contacts of relations across the board. We can not negotiate this in our business and profile search.
We also should not segregate by religious profiling. There is equal protection under the law. It is not right to say so under the law. By law, it may be patently illegal to say or do so.
It violates equal protection.
Do not lose your identity, or make others lose theirs!
We must learn from Paul.
He was not afraid to say he was Roman, though Christ was judged under Roman law and crucified under Roman law.
Do not be proud to say you do not deal with believers. It is derogatory to the Kingdom teaching of harmony, Psalm 133:1
Be confident to identify yourself as a Christian to other Christian.
*Remorse corner.*
Be proud you are a child of God, and as you do, prove this by what you do so that people will know who you truly are.
*Call to Word action.*
Acts 22:3 *I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Do not say as a Christian that you prefer to work with unbelievers. What would you say you have contributed to the life of your fellow believer?
To avoid other believers in what might benefit them is already a defeat for you, Matt 18:15-16, 1 Cor 16:1-11.
*Prayer.*
Help me so that l do not lose my identity as a Christian. Let me in the Spirit of well doing prove myself as a true Child of God.
Help me to build other believers in the path of prosperity, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
