DO NOT LOSE FOCUS

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*DO NOT LOSE FOCUS.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

2 Sam 15:31 *And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Be patient to understand the role your Divine location has to play in the fulfillment of your destiny.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Ahithophel was a man famous for practical sound judgment.

He was someone we could call a trusted friend and counselor of king David.

His counsel was *"....like the consultation of the word of God.* Such was the high regards David had for him.

There was also a young man named Absalom, son of king David who also had regards for Ahithophel's advice, 2 Sam 16:23

Ahithophel defected to the camp of Absalom and this strengthened the conspiracy against David, 2 Sam 15:12.

His defection was a great disappointment.

So David prayed God to turn the advise of Ahithophel to foolishness, 2 Sam 17:14,

2 Sam 15:31.

David's prayer to frustrate his counsel was immediately answered and the devising means for this end quickly followed

2 Sam 15: 31, 17:14.

When Ahitophel saw that his advise had not been followed, he hung himself, 2 Sam 17:23.

Many attimes, some people do not know that their light shine brightest under a Divine arrangement. The moment they deviate from that arrangement, the less bright or dim, their light becomes.

Looking closely at the advise of Ahithophel, it was the best. If followed, David would have easily slipped into Absalom's hands. The scripture called Ahitophel's advise as a "wise counsel counsel".

2 Samuel 17:14 *"...For the LORD had purposed to thwart *the good counsel of Ahithophel* in order to bring disaster on Absalom.

John says of John the Baptist *"....came for a witness,* *to bear witness of the Light*, *that all men through him might*

*believe.* John 1:7.

John the Baptist stayed under the divine arrangement to fulfil his destiny.

He came into the world at the right time and in the right place.

Ahithophel was positioned in the right place with king David but got on the wrong road with Absalom so he got lost and committed assisted suicide by hanging!

*Remorse corner.*

Do not lose focus from God's plan for your life. Ahithophel shifted focus and all together, lost everything.

*Call to Word action.*

Whatever attracted Ahitophel to Absalom was not to be compared with the Divinely established reputation he had with king David. Ahithophel must have thought himself too highly. Self ego and deception were part of key factors that led to his downfall.

Prov 20:17 *Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.”*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Do not follow the multitude to do Evil.

There is always a Divine arrangement to every Divine assignment. Missing your location may seriously impact your destiny negatively.

*Prayer*

Lord, help me to stay Divinely connected with you, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
