*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*DO NOT GIVE ROOM TO SATAN*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Matthew 11:12 *And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Take back what Satan has taken from you.
Ever violent pursuit of Satan must be countered by an aggressive fight against him.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Jesus spoke about John the Baptist as a man who did not compromise. He was bold, confrontational and Christ endorsed his ministry as a prelude to the spiritual warfare against Satan that would result in unprecedented violence, not of carnal arms or the arms of flesh or weapons of war (e.g, guns etc) but weapons of our spiritual warfare (e.g, prayer), Eph 6:12.
John became the first of Christ followers to die from persecution before the New Covenant (after Christ's death and resurrection) was established.
John did not see Christ's death and resurrection therefore by the shedding of blood and ultimate salvation we who experienced His salvation through the blood are considered greater than John. Jesus says Matt 11:11 *Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.*
Jesus spoke these words about John and shortly after, his gruesome death occurred.
John died by beheading. It must have been very horrific, bitter, cold and violent, Matt 14:10
Jesus prepares us for violent oppositions that would call for fervent prayers that must be effectual.
Jesus tells us that spiritual warfare is serious business and Satan is not an easy opposition.
Satan and his agents will not give up until they are prayed away to give up.
If Jezebel called for the head of Elijah yet Christ tells us that *"....from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence,* you can imagine what more violent could be worse than Jezebel's call for the head of Elijah.
Jesus is telling us that the battle gets worse by the passage of time.
Most of the Old Testament prophets' deaths were not recorded but John's (whom Jesus said was greater than them) was recorded.
Jesus further teaches than Satan will be reluctant to release what he did not have the right to. He stole from you but will fight you to deprive you of what belongs to you so you must take it by force!
You are violent with Satan when you pull down his kingdom.
2 Cor 10:4-5 *(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)*
*Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;*
Satanic opposition will get worse as we approach Christ's second coming.
Paul writes 2 Tim 3:1 *This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.*
Be fervent and violent in prayer.
Do not give room for Satan!
*Remorse Corner.*
You are violent against Satan when you give your life to Jesus. Salvation through Christ remains the first step to freeing yourself from Satan's hold.
*Call to Word action.*
You are violent against Satan when you employ the weapons of our spiritual warfare, Eph 6, 1 Thess 5:17
*The Christian clarion duty.*
You are violent with Satan when you live holy.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to take back what Satan has taken from me in Jesus name.
Good morning all and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
Shalom.
