....DO NOT CALL ME NAOMI....

WISDOM FOR TODAY.

....DO NOT CALL ME NAOMI....

Scripture Treasure.

Ruth 1:1-2 Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.

And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. And they came into the country of Moab and continued there.

Insight and Highlight.

We must know that there are times when some or most of the troubles and challenges we face are not an end but a means to an end.

Scripture Treasure.

The book of Ruth tells the moving saga of the family of Elimelech of Bethlehemjudah.

Elimelech, his wife, their two sons, Mahlon and Chilion, and their wives left Bethlehemjudah for Moab.

There was famine in Bethlehemjudah

(Bethlehem means house of bread) but they left Bethlehem for the land of Moab.

To the family, Moab had what Bethlehem did not have.

They did not know that Moab's faulty foundation was waiting for them.

A little history of Moab will help us.

Moab was from the lineage of Lot. The genealogy of Moab is traceable to an incestuous relationship between Lot and his firstborn daughter.

From this relationship, she ....bare a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day. (Gen 19:37

The house of bread was lacking bread, but the land of Moab (the unrighteous) is full of bread.

So Elimelech and family left in search of bread in Moab.

In Moab, Elimelech died, and Naomi was left with her two sons. Each married two daughters of Moab, .....the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years. (Ruth 1:4).

There are a few lessons to learn from the life of Elimelech's family.

First, a placement of God is not the absence of trouble. In other words, life is not without its trouble even in the midst of where God has placed us, ref Job 1:6.

There are times there can be troubles even in the midst of a God sent assignment.

Moses told God in Exd 5:23 For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all.

There are times a place of bread can lack bread.

Second, we must never be in a hurry to leave a place without seeking God's face.

In the land of Moab, where Elimelech thought it would be better for him and his family. There, he and his two sons died!

Looking closely at this story, Naomi heard in the land of Moab that there was now bread in Bethlehemjudah, Ruth 1:6.

Third, most problems in life, if not all, are temporary. They may even be a test of our faith.

Fourth, checking the foundation or root cause is key. It pays to check why some things are happening to us.

Rev 2: tells us to Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works;...

There are still faulty foundations waiting to take its pound of flesh.

So many foundations are faulty or already destroyed, Psalm11:3.

We must pray and guard against them, taking revenge over covenant made with them by our forefathers.

A place of crystal may be a place of crisis. A place may be beautiful but pitiful.

Let us walk patiently with God.

Remorse corner.

As beautiful as roses are, they have thorns.

Call to Word action.

Do not rush to separate yourself. Rushing to separate yourself may result in separating from God.

The Christian clarion duty.

Impatience robs us of the patience of God's plan for our lives

Praise.

Let me not be in a hurry to lose God's planned purposes for my life.

Help me to patiently wait ...till my time comes., in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
