DETERMINANTS OF ANOINTING.

*WISDOM FOR TODAY*

*DETERMINANTS OF ANOINTING.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

1 Sam 16:13 *Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Lack of good health does not mean a lack of anointing.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Elisha, one of God's most anointed men of God, was sick.

According to the scriptures, he was old. He had survived Ahab and was now in the reign of Joash

His sickness must have been due to the degeneration of his natural force.

While Moses' *".....eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.*, Elisha's

must have degenerated naturally, Deut 32:7.

While Moses was a hundred and twenty years old, it is estimated Elisha might have been in his middle or late eighties.

Age, aging or dying young , or old age are not determinants of anointing. Dying in good health or as a result of bad health are not determinants of anointing.

While good health is God's wish, 3 John 2, dying due to bad health does not mean a lack of anointing.

God works in miraculous ways, and we must never miss the supernatural by looking at the physical.

There are health challenges that are inwards and are well managed and are good and presentable for God's services. Such was that of Elisha.

While physically and bodily challenges may appear as obvious

discouragement to expectant recipients of miracles from God, we can reliably inform that God does use the most physically challenged to achieve miracles today.

God has proved that disability is not disadvantageous. It is not an obstacle to success, and it is not inability.

God has proved that though there at times there may not be a removal of our weakness but His power will be made manifest in our weakness.

There are many vessels of God who may have health challenges they are carrying in their bodies yet carry the pure power of God.

Paul may have been carrying the torn in his flesh all around his missionary journey, yet the power of God was with him.

His weaknesses were not removed, yet the power of God was on him to overcome his weaknesses, 2 Cor 12.

God's anointing is not dependent on man's physical condition or makeup.

Christ said the boy in John 9 was born blind *....that the works of God should be revealed in him.* John 9:3.

It is, however, important that God wants us to pay close attention to our health. Church health and wellness administration is not shy to advise Pastors to do health checks for health conformity and wellness.

We must be careful we do not have to face why a believer has to exit the ministry earlier that he/she was supposed to when God has put in place adequate measures for his/her wellness to survive longer than he/she had lived.

Elisha, in his sickness, transfered anointing.

Our relationship with God is in the Spirit, so God's power is in the Spirit. The Spirit is embodied in our spirit. Through the Spirit, our spirit, body, and soul are empowered. This is the reason why Elisha,s hand, Paul's handkerchief, and Peter's shadow were all conductors of anointing for onward transfer to the recipients.

The anointed may not need to be in perfect health to anoint you.

Believe in his God and believe also in him.

Are you willing to receive anointing?.

*Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.”*, 2 Chro 20:20.

*Remorse corner.*

Believe in God, believe also in the anointed. His/her physical state may not determine what God will do for you, ref John 14:1.

*Call to Word action.*

Matthew 10:41 *He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

God does not need any clearance to clear you to receive anointing.

Believe in the vessel also, and you shall receive a reward

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to show forth the power of Your anointing as an anointed vessel.

Let me also believe in You as much as l believe in Your anointed in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you
