Psalm 102:20 *To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;*

As there is an appointed time for every man to die so is there "an appointed time" for those who are doomed to die by the hands of the wicked.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Scripture tells us *"....it is appointed unto men once to die,..."*, Heb 9:27.

This time differs from person to person. This time is God’s ultimate appointed time of departure. This usually comes with the medical examiner's report: death by natural causes.

There are also death caused by sicknesses, accidents etc.

However also there are death caused by the criminal justice system for condemned criminals and untimely death due to human wickedness, 2 Kgs 11:1.

Bible speaks of untimely deaths and warns us to be wise so that we do not fall victim, Eccl 7:17.

Jonah could be described as an accessory after some deaths that could be attributable to other humans negligence.

But for God, Jonah could have caused the death of many in the boat heading for Tarshish, on that fateful day.

Jonah 1:4-5a says  *But the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken.*

*Then the mariners were afraid, ...."*

As we travel, go about our daily businesses or vacation, by road, air, sea, we must earnestly pray that we are not accompanied by people who are doomed or appointed to die.

These people, some of them do not know the mark of danger on them. So the Christian must always pray that the Lord deliver him/her from evil.

There is an evil sufficient for the day, Matt 6:34. It is a world where the wicked is acquitted but the innocent is condemned (Prov 17:15). It is a world that *"....condemn the innocent to death.*, Ps 94:21.

Matthew 6:13 *And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Psalm 94:21 *They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.*

Christian seek not yet repose. Watch and pray!

*Prayer.*

Lord deliver me from evil. Deliver and separate me from those who are doomed to die. Let the wickedness of the wicked cease in this world, in Jesus name.
