DEAD MEN DO NOT TALK
*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*DEAD MEN DO NOT TALK*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Romans 6:8 *Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Before you speak, ask God.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Numb 24:19, 1 Kgs 22:14, among many other passages, tell us that God puts His word in people's mouth and they are expected to say only what God commanded them to say.
It may be hard for the believer to accept silence in threatening situations that present themselves to him, but he is to take them in as if nothing had happened, Is 53:7.
The believer is "dead" because he is like a dead person who can not talk. He is not allowed to speak anyhow, and neither is he allowed to react anyhow.
He is under God’s control.
There are pemmissible boundaries set by God for him to speak or not to speak.
Rom 6:8; tells us of the deadness of the believer. He is dead to sin because he has been made alive in Christ Jesus. He now has a new life.
It is important we know that the believer is not only dead to sin, but he is also dead to anything that could make him sin.
You must not sin because you are dead to it, but you must also avoid anything that could make sin possible.
Part of it is avoiding the company of those who could ignite your sinful nature, 2 Cor 6:14.
People can make us angry or make us commit evil against the Lord, in spite of our steadfastness.
It is up to us to allow the Spirit to guide us when to talk or remain silent.
This tells us that silence can be golden when inspired by the Spirit.
Before you speak, ask God.
It is not about whether the situation is so tense that you can not afford not to say something, but it is about God giving you the permission to speak.
This is a hard saying, but it is better to follow God as He gives you permission to speak. This is because if you react when He has not ordered you to do so, it will be harder to withdraw God's anger when you have spoken if He has not given you the go-ahead to speak.
Are you about to react to provocations?
Stop, and ask God first!
It is worth the wait before you take any action.
*Remorse corner.*
Have you been permitted to speak by the Spirit?
Always check with Him first before you speak or react!
*Call to Word action.*
Matthew 10:19 *But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Moses spoke against God's people. He probably thought he might be defending God, but God punished him instead.
The Christian must always remember our anger over anything, either in response or in the defending actions, may not produce the righteousness of God, James 1:20
*Prayer.*
Lord, lead me when to speak or remain silent, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
