CHRIST STOOPS THAT YOU MAY STAND (4)

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*CHRIST STOOPS THAT YOU MAY STAND.(4)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Heb 10:9 *Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

*Insight and Highlight.*

When Jesus stooped, the law of Moses was fulfilled by the law of Spirit and life. The second was taken away to give way to the first.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Today, we will look at the fourth lesson Jesus teaches us.

By stooping, Jesus teaches us that He is a God of order.

If there is a law that prescribed death by stoning for adultery, there must be an abrogation, amendment, ratification, or a revocation of the same old law for a new law to come into effect.

When Christ stooped, the same finger that wrote the law on the tablets of stone (Exd 31:18) now wrote on the ground. The finger wrote on the dust from which man was made of and the dust he must return, Gen 2:7, 3:19.

When Jesus stooped, He was writing on the soul of man and on his heart, a complete redirection from writing on a stone.

Jer 31:33 *But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.*

The Law of the Spirit that opens the door for reconciliation and forgiveness overtook the law of condemnation and instant death without any consideration for repentance.

The Law of the Spirit written in our hearts, not written in ink.

2 Cor 2:3-4 *Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:*

*Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.*

Death was written on stones, but the law of the Spirit was written in our hearts to give us life, 2 Cor 3:6-7.

By Jesus stooping and writing on the ground, He was replacing the ministry of condemnation with the Spirit of reconciliation, which *".....exceed in glory..."* 2 Cor 3:9-11.

Through the Spirit of reconciliation, we receive eternal life.

Through the Spirit of reconciliation, we are spared of eternal damnation.

When Jesus stooped to write on the ground with His finger, He suspended Moses' law and all natural laws in order to make way for the Law of the Spirit.

Christ, who is God, the beginning of the law became the end of it.

Rom 10:4 *For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.*

He did not destroy Moses's law but brought life into it that though we live by the law, we will not die by the law because of the Spirit, Matt 5:17.

Christ stooped so that you may stand to live!

*Remorse corner.*

Rom 8:1 *There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.*

*Call to Word action.*

Rom 8:2 *For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Jesus stooped to tell us that both the Laws of Moses and the Spirit are products of writing, He is both the Word: written and spoken.

It is through the law of Spirit that the law of Moses found fulfilments without losing its relevance,

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to live in the Spirit, in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
