BEAST OF A NATION.

WISDOM FOR TODAY.

BEAST OF A NATION.

Scripture Treasure.

2 Kings 6:28-29 And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow.

So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.

Insight and Highlight.

We must regain our throne. We must live with the fear and understanding of the will of God, or else we will perish like beasts, Psalm 49:20.

Scripture Commentaries.

There was a great famine in Samaria, where the children of men became inhumane to other humans, where they became like beasts and died like beasts, Psalm 49:12, 20.

A nation of God had become a nation of beasts.

in 2 Kings 6, a woman saw the king and told him about a woman, whom they had both eaten her son, boiled but this woman now refused to release her son for food as they both had earlier promised each other.

The king was sorry to hear this so he rented his clothes and had sackcloth upon his flesh ( a symbol or repentance) but he blamed the act of cannibalism on Elisha vowing to cut off Elisha's head, 2 Kings 6: 35-32.

The evil was, however, of the Lord 2 Kings 6:33.

Cannibalism is the eating of any human by another member of the same humans. It is also in animals when an animal is eaten by another member of the same species.

The king did well to submit to God, saying he could not help if God could not help, 2 Kings 6:27.

He, however, sent his messenger to cut Elisha's neck.

The messenger was right to say the misery of cannibalism was from the Lord.

God said if we refuse to obey and hearken unto His voice, He stated some curses from Deut 28:15- 68.

Deut 28: 52, 53, 55, 57, Lev 26:29, Jer 19,9 which were the curses on humans eating the flesh of their own sons or daughters because there was nothing to eat!

Both animals and humans exhibit cannibalistic behavior.

It is most wild and raw in humans, though unthinkable, unimaginable, and unrighteous, yet it is an everyday occurrence.

We are like the servant of the king of Israel who took laws into our hands and concluded why wait on God any further deliverance.

The servant's only alternative was to kill Elisha.

Today, people do not just eat other people out of hunger but also for rituals.

If you do not believe there is cannibalism, my prayer is that you will never see or experience one in Jesus name.

We must regain our throne back as God ordained it from the beginning.

We must not be like the king's servant who lost hope of restoration, but we must be like Elisha, who opened up the next chapter in 2 Kings 7:1 saying

Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.

The man whom the king thought was the problem behind the siege became the problem solver.

The king almost killed the nation's problem solver!

Remorse corner.

When there is a problem, kill the problem, not the solution!

Call to Word action.

We must live to avoid God's anger. He is too powerful to be disobeyed, and no mortal can withstand fiery fire of indignation, Heb 10:31. No one is above Him or has impunity when wrong. He is not a respecter of persons, Acts 10:34.

The Christian clarion duty.

Elisha came back with revenge against the famine caused by the people's disobedience by one decree, and the famine in Samaria ended, never to happen again!

Prayer.

Let nations obey You.

May we not experience famine, We will not eat our offspring in Jesus name.

Good morning all, and have a blessed day.

God bless you
