BE YE RECONCILED TO GOD

2 Cor 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

Insight and Highlight

Malachi 2:7  For the priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the LORD of hosts.

Scripture Commentaries

To be reconciled to God is to accept the pardon which is freely offered.

The death of Christ is the highest act of Divine love connected with the work of reconciliation.

People still quarrel with God for unanswered prayers.

God thereby held out His chosen as ambassadors to appeal on behalf of Christ that erring people will be reconciled to God.

In a world where people are disobedient to God, Paul demonstrated the need of the prayer of courage needed by the vessel of God to speak boldly to a world that is resentful, unwilling to hear about God:

Paul exhorts in Eph 6:19 to pray "....that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

The world is reluctant to reconcile with God.

Therefore Christ's ambassadors do not enjoy what secular ambassadors enjoy e.g diplomatic immunity.

We suffer more than we enjoy in propagating the gospel, becoming ambassadors in chains rather than ambassadors enjoying

ambassadorial dignity and impunity.

Remorse corner

Are you an ambassador in chains or ambassadors that conforms to life's pleasure and the world's standard?

Call to Word action

The chain we bear is the badge of Christ

Though we are in chains yet we are saved in imprisonment, in perils, in danger.

We must rise up to declare the gospel

The Christian clarion duty

An ambassador of Christ must be prepared to bear chains to God's glory.

Prayers

Leviticus 10:11 And that you may teach the Israelites all the statutes that the LORD has given them through Moses.

Lord, let no challenges, bonds, or chains limit me from being the true ambassadors of Christ, to teach and convert the lost to Christ, in Jesus' name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
