BE NOT FOOLISH WISE

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*BE NOT FOOLISH WISE.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Eccl 8:17 *Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea farther; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Believe, God does all things well.

Only the wise fool tries to search God out.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Solomon recognized that no matter how wise we are, we are made so by God, 1 Cor 4:7.

When humans try to find God out, they become foolish wise. In search of ways to explain God's work, the wise became fools.

A man's wisdom can be exhausted but God's cannot and can never be exhausted.

No matter how wise we are, we cannot by our own wisdom explain all the works of God or the ways of His providence.

Rom 11:33 *O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!*

No matter how little a man knows, the little he has, the propensity to boast or behave as if he has all things is in him.

Many wise limit their wisdom to themselves, many become so full of themselves that they refuse to listen to God's admonition, His word or counsel. Job 15:8 *Do you listen in on the council of God or limit wisdom to yourself?*

No matter how wise we are, we cannot search God out, Job 11:7 *Can you fathom the deep things of God or discover the limits of the Almighty?*

We are however admonished that all God does is well.

Job acknowledges in Job 5:9 *the One who does great and unsearchable things, wonders without number.*

It is unreasonable for any human to search God.

This is the source of human depravity.

Without doubt God has made so much knowledge available to help us sustain our world place, counter crimes etc.

Humans however find themselves searching more than they are permitted to search, Eccl 7:29.

There is a limit to our searches as far as the boundaries God has given us is concerned, Deut 29:29

The more humans searched for knowledge, the less satisfied they became.

The little they found came with more disadvantages than advantages and the more knowledge and inventions, the more anti devises to destroy or frustrate them.

Solomon acknowledges in Eccl 1:18  *For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.*

Solomon is saying that if care is neglected the wise will become fools.

Many inventions are celebrated today, but how many have gone beyond limits permitted by God?

Like Job, let us know that we do not have to know all the reasons behind God's works; we simply need to trust in the Lord and believe that He does all things well. If we are His children, then we are in His Hands , Eccl 9:1.

*Remorse corner.*

The world today must watch so that we do not make ourselves overwise. When humans try to be overwise, their wise foundation is confounded, 1 Cor 1:27.

*Call to Word action.*

Eccl 7:16 *Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself?*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

God wants us to be wise, Jam 1:5, but if in quest for wisdom we pursue to be more wise or overwise, Solomon says we become fools. Eccl 2:15 *Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also is vanity.*

Rom 1:22 *Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,*

*Prayer*

Lord help me to limit my wisdom to that which is given me from above. Any time l try to be overwise, please help me to remain within my God's permitted limits, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
