*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*BE FAMILIAR, BUT NOT FREQUENT.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Proverbs 25:17  *Do not visit your neighbors too often, or you will wear out your welcome.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

In every friendship, moderation is advised.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Friends/friendly neighbors are good.

The Bible admonishes we have friend(s), but one or too many of them may lead to ruin, Prov 18:24, Prov 17:17, 2 Sam 1:26, Ps 41:9

It is a good thing to have friends, make friends in our neighborhood and have friendly neighbors.

We must however be wise with relationships based on friendship.

Jesus calls us His friend based on compliance in obedience, John 15:14-15.

A regular visit in friendship may be an overdo. Too much communication to the same person may lead to a familiarity that breeds contempt.

Solomon admonishes moderation: Do not pay too frequent visits to your neighbors' house, or make yourself too much at home there.

He is warning there may be an issue with frequency and familiarity. Your frequency of visit may move beyond your neighbor's comfort.

You need to set boundaries so as not to go beyond other's set boundaries.

It is not in all cases that frequency destroys familiarity but it will help you to assess who a neighbor is.

Have an understanding of your relationship with your neighbor to detrmine if frequency will not destroy your perceived familiarity.

In most cases too much frequency of visit does weary a neighbor just as the saying familiarity breeds contempt.

Reevaluate all your relationships, know those with negative effects and those with the positives.

Which ones should you really have much access to and who should have access to you?

Set boundaries!

*Remorse corner.*

Remember there are times when frequency to your neighbor's house does wear your neighbor's threshold of how much he/she can bear.

*Call to Word action.*

Remember there are times when too much familiarity with just anyone can lead to unregulated jokes not befitting your status.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Lead a quiet life, that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders. Take a break, unplug often, as a caution.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to set healthy boundaries in my relationship with my neighbors, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
