BE CAUTIOUS AND WISE(3)

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*BE CAUTIOUS AND WISE (3)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Eccl 10:5-6 *There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler:*

*Folly is set in great dignity, and the rich sit in low place.*

*lnsight and Highlight.*

There is no limit to foolishness

Eccl 10:6 *Folly is appointed to great heights, but the rich sit in lowly positions.*

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Solomon warns us that as contemptible as folly is, it is set in great dignity. This is why in the world today there are fools set in many high places.

By this word, Solomon is saying by virtue of their placements in high places, people honor fools, but dishonor the rich;.

This is why he says in Eccl 10:5, *There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, as an error which proceedeth from the ruler:*

Solomon, himself became a victim of his own writings.

In 1 Kgs 11:1 the scripture says *"But Solomon loved many strange women...."*

His folly came in two ways:

First, God's command says kings are not to multiply wives, Deut 17:14-20. He knew the consequences, yet he fell into the deceitfulness of sin. It led him to serve heathen gods, 1 Kgs 11: 1-13.

His father, David warned him of the consequences of forsaking God, 1 Chro 28:9

Second, Solomon's idolatry shows us that mere knowledge of God and His word alone is not adequate to keep us from sinning. Neglect, intentional/ wilful sin, folly are all products of sin which come from the heart and can be resisted only so long as one's heart is turned in faith, fear and love toward God, Deut 6:4-9.

Evil proceeded from a ruler because of his foolish choices.

Becareful of the choices you make.

Solomon's word from his mouth was gracious but his choices swallowed him up.

*Remorse corner.*

We seek wisdom but when found how well do we apply it to our daily lives?

*Call to Word action.*

Eccl 10:12 *The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Solomon's wisdom was soon overtaken.

It will no longer be sufficient until it is adopted and lived in Christ, *" behold, a greater than Solomon is here."*, Luke 11:31.

*Prayer*

Lord, help me to be watchful. Let me not be a fool or rule among fools (Eccl 9:17), in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
