*WISDOM FOR TODAY*

*AS A WOMAN, WHO ARE YOU?*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Proverbs 14:1 *Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

What kind of woman/wife would you say you are? How does God see you, how do people see you and how does your husband see you?

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Solomon loved many women, 1 Kg 11.

It appears the Shulammite maiden (SoS 6:13) was his first wife before he became king (SoS 3:11) of whom he wrote many feet- sweeping poems of accolades.

However, Solomon wanted to find out more about women. He wanted to know the *"....reason of things..."*

That is; why a woman who appears good at first sight may actually be found not to be so for reason of foolishness.

Before he made this discovery he said in Eccl 7:24, he said there are wisdom and things that are *"...far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it"?*

In his search for "wisdom; *and the reason of things and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness"* (Eccl 7: 25), he found something about some women.

He says in Eccl 7:26 *And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her"*

He regrettably said the one whom his soul seeks, though he found a man among a thousand, but while he has been king, though he loved many women, he has not found a woman whom his soul seeks., ref Eccl 7:28.

Eccl 7:28 (NIV) says *"....not one upright woman among them all."*

Just as we see in the lives of unfaithful men so also we see women who are unbelievably cruel.

As there were women of unblemished characters, Deborah, Esther, so also were women of destructive characters, Jezebel, Athaliah etc..

Solomon's finding tells us, some women *"are more bitter than death..."*. He further says only a *"...man that fears God will escape from her."*, Eccl 7:26.

Such women, though they may be married now but if they do not change their attitudes, they will drive their men out of the home. If it has not happened, it will happen. It is just a matter of time! May this not be your portion.

If you are a woman commendable in truth by your husband, keep doing good.

If however, before your husband speaks a word, you have spoken two, change your ways. The clock is ticking.

Your miserable husband is watching you.

He *"knows the interpretation of things..."*. *"...a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed"*, Eccl 8:1 (NLT) says because he is wise, *"....Wisdom lights up his *"....face, softening its harshness."*

Becareful erring women.

Amend your ways today!

*Remorse corner.*

Solomon went on to make things clearer saying everything God had made (man or woman) was made good but they have chosen to be bad, ref Eccl 7:24.

*Call to Word action.*

Eccl 7:24 (NLT) *"But I did find this: God created people to be virtuous, but they have each turned to follow their own downward path.”*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Woman, why would you choose a downward path?

Be of good character.

*Prayer.*

Lord help me to be a woman who builds a home, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.
