*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*ARE YOU GROWING (6)*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Heb 5: 12-14 *For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.*

*For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.*

*But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

Why do you remain spiritually immature despite having enough time to grow and be a teacher to others?

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Why do you remain under tutoring when you are supposed to be a tutor?

Why do you remain under spiritual guidance when you are supposed to be guiding others?

Heb 5: 12-14 differentiates "babes" (unskillful in the word) with those who are of "full age" (mature).

Some Christians have really not progressed toward spiritual adulthood.

Heb 5:12-14 addresses some Christians who are not growing at all.

They lack responsibilities and add more to other Christians' responsibilities.

While mature Christians are nurturing new converts in growth and development, they are burdened with the additional burden of those who ought to be progressing but are not.

These categories of those who are supposed to be growing or have refused to grow are the spiritually lazy, the "do nothing", the well-taught but are *".....dull of hearing.* (Heb 5:11).

Mature believers have their senses to exercise both good and evil.

Immature believers only see evil. They do not see what is good. They only see what is not right rather that see how to make it right. They blame others who are doing something but they do nothing.

Growth is responsibility Responsibily is growth. The more you grow, the more responsibilities that will be given to you.

Matt 25:23 teaches us that those who are faithful in the little will be given more responsibilities with greater rewards.

Jesus says *His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.*

Christians who fail to apply God's word to their daily living, will experience stunted or 'still' growth.

They will be 'living on milk' also described as *".....unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.*

People often are immature because they lack the desire to grow in the Lord. Some are unstable. Some just wish to remain as nominal Christians (the either-here-or-there' or neither-here-nor-there Christians, Rev 3: 16.

True growth is found in studying *".....to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.* 2 Tim 2:15.

There must be a willing mind to grow (ref 2 Cor 8:12).

Are you growing or better still are you willing to grow?

*Remorse corner.*

Christian growth must be intentionally proved through one's effort rather than mere academic or philosophical knowledge of the word of God.

*Call to Word action.*

2 Peter 3:18 *But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Every Christian growth gains divine approval. Your focused study is evidence of transformative changes that you have received divine approval.

*Prayer.*

Lord give me a willing heart to grow in You in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day.

God bless you.

Shalom.
