*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*ARE YOU A TIMOTHY OR JANNES AND JAMBRES?*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Isaiah 53:1-6 *Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Rom 10:16 *But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?*
*Scripture Commentaries.*
You must choose whom to believe.
Some do not believe the Bible. Some pick and choose what to believe in it.
You must know and seek God's blessings to you in the Bible and seek to avoid His pronounced judgment as stated in it.
You can not believe the gospel of Christ and believe Satan.
If you do not believe Christ, you will believe Satan.
When we resist the word of God, we make preachers of His word wonder if there was anyone who believed in what they had preached. If our lives do not change to reflect Jesus, we make them wonder if anyone ever believed the word of God they preached.
When we resist God, we are telling Him that His word is not strong enough to penetrate our souls or not enough to change us.
When we resist Him, we arouse His jealousy and anger.
Paul says you should not arouse the Lord's jealousy because you can never be stronger than God.
*Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?* 1 Cor 10:22.
Jesus was asked by His disciples in Matt 13:11 *....Why speakest thou unto them in parables?*
Jesus replied, saying, *"He spoke to them in parables *....because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.*, Matt 13:13.
By parable, Jesus used a moral tale to illustrate a spiritual lesson. By so doing, He feeds them with normal day-to-day life illustrations for their easy learning and understanding.
Yet, they refuse to learn by understanding.
Paul exhorts Timothy telling him that people can be given the opportunity to learn continually yet can be void of understanding and the knowledge of truth.
So, according to Paul and Isaiah, people did not believe their reports not because they were not taught or preached to but because they refused to believe the teachings or preaching.
Paul said to Timothy in 2 Timothy 3:7-9 *Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.*
*Now, as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.*
*But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.*
*But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,*
As there were the Timothy's and the Jannes' and Jambres's groups in Paul's time, so are there today.
The Timothys believe, but the Jannes Jambres resist!
The Timothys harvest.
Who are you, and which group do you belong to?
*Remorse corner.*
No matter how simplified the message of Christ is, the Jannes and Jambres still find it difficult to understand by believing.
*Call to Word action.*
Matt 13:16 *But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
As you have believed, keep on believing and teach others to do so.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to believe and keep on believing in Christ, in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and welcome to the month of February: *OUR MONTH OF GREAT HARVEST.*
Harvest a soul today.
Have a blessed day today.
God bless you.
