*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*ARE YOU A CHILD OF PEACE?*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Romans 12:18 *If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
How do you live peaceably with people who are not at peace with you?
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Out of all that God created, children of men are the most complex.
We all know animals that are dangerous and those who are not as dangerous and those that are harmless. As you find any of these animals, these are how their characteristics are.
With humans, it is not so.
They can pretend as long as they need what they want. They always think they are wise to deceive. While humans can appear to be friendly today, eating and dining with you, the opposite can happen a minute later of any day.
Paul, knowing this, however, admonishes that *"....if it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.*
How do we live peaceably with people who are not at peace or are not ready to be at peace with us?
In another way, how would we not live peaceably with God or people who are at peace with us?
Today, we will look at the first question.
Looking at the first question, Paul admonishes that we are accountable to ourselves before God. We must do our best to maintain peace even when we are dealing with the most conning
and difficult people, though this can be difficult and, at times, may not always seem possible.
Deciding to be at peace with them does not mean giving way to their vices or evil. We have just tried not to be influenced by what they have done.
Paul is telling us that by our actions, we are handing them to God, the ultimate judge, and He will inflict judgment.
God sees everything. He saw it from the beginning, and He knew it would end the way it ended.
We are not to follow our impulse to be upset by what someone had done against us. Paul is saying God knows how much struggle you are going through by maintaining peace before God, with those who do not deserve it.
Paul knew his own struggles too and he wrote this because he knew it would almost not be possible but it could be possible, but he was admonishing that when you do your best to live at peace with everyone,
God will reward you.
Are you a child of peace?
*Remorse corner.*
If you do your best to be at peace with everyone, you have done well before God, who will take over.
*Call to Word action.*
When you do your best to be at peace with everyone, you have aggravated their guilt and have exposed them to tougher punishment from God, Prov 25:21-22
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Have you threatened the peace between yourself and a person of peace? The person of peace will do you good because this is his/her only vengeance, Rom 12:21, but you are carrying coals of fire on your head.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to be a child of peace. Do not let evil overcome me. Let me overcome evil with good, in Jesus name.
Good morning, and be blessed as you come into His presence today in Jesus name.
God bless you.
