ANOINTING (5)

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*ANOINTING (5).*

*Scripture Treasure.*

2 Kings 4:29 *Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

The power of the anointing in working miracles is not limited to the person of the anointed alone. Everything he possesses has the permanent use of that power.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

In continuation of the study of the anointed Elisha, we will look at two things we can learn from his exploits as a dead man.

First, is that what the anointed has in his possession can be granted temporary or permanent use of power.

The power of anointing in the anointed is so great in any part of him, whether physically or spiritually or both. What he touches becomes a vessel of power.

The anointed Jesus spat on the ground, and his spit opened the eyes of the blind, John 9:6-7.

In Exd 7:19-20, God commanded Moses to tell Aaron to use his rod to bring blood upon the rivers of Egypt

God had instructed Moses to use the staff in his hand to perform miracles, Exd 4:17.

The shadow of Peter healed the sick, Acts 5:15. Paul healed through handkerchiefs and aprons, Acts 19:12.

Second, it tells us that the use of whatsoever item of clothing, staff, or rod is only as directed by God.

They will be most effective in performing miracles when God directs their use.

God reserves the right to choose what to use through His anointed and the power of what to use is only in God, who grants the temporary use to support our faith and prayer.

God had told Moses to *'......take this staff in your hand so you can perform signs with it."*, Exd 4:17.

Moses may seem to have forgotten or may not have presumed the rod as necessary to perform all signs.

Moses, like Paul, Elisha, and Elijah, could have used any of what they had, and God would have endorsed them.

However, God here directed Moses' use of the rod. Elisha, with his staff, went into the house of dead Shunamite's son and both in the name of the Lord, did exploits.

The anointed do miracles in the name of the Lord, and so every object of miracle is profitable for use in the name of the Lord, Jesus.

*Remorse corner.*

The anointed is complete in Him

*Call to Word action.*

Colossians 2:10 *And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Luke 10:19 *Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.*

*Prayer.*

Lord, anoint me and let me be for signs and wonders, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
