ANOINTING(1)

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*ANOINTING (1).*

*Scripture Treasure.*

2 Kgs 13:21

*And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.*

*lnsight and Highlight.*

Anointing revives.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Anointing is by the Holy Spirit who gives to whomsover He wills, Acts 10:38, Luke 11:13, John 2:27.

The anointing of God does the supernatural. Raising the dead, amongst many other supernatural works, is distinct and often considered second to none.

The anointing worked in Jesus's life and ministry.

Jesus raised the dead as a human incarnation of God.

He raised Lazarus, and *"......he that was dead came forth, ..."*, John 11:43-44.

The son of the widow of Nain. Jesus spoke to the young man to arise, and he *".... that was dead sat up, and began to speak."*, Lk 7:15.

When He rose *".....the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,* Matt 27:52-53.

As the soon coming King and Lord, *".....the dead in Christ shall rise first:*, 1 Thess 4:16.

The life of Jesus, the anointing upon Him, the anointing of Elisha, and how his dead body raised a dead body to life teaches us a few things.

We will mention three today.

First is that anointing is the gateway to ministry. Jesus did not start serving God without first receiving the anointing from God, Acts 10:38

Second, is that anointing can work in the life of the anointed and can outlive him/her. Elisha died and was buried like other children of men. A man was cast into the same sepulchre wherein he was buried.

Third is that anointing renews, revives, and restores a person by his destroying yokes

The dead man was *"......revived and stood up on his feet."*, 2 Kg 13:21.

Isaiah 10:27 says it burden-removing, yoke-destroying.

The anointed is in favor of God.

*Remorse corner.*

Only the anointed can call those things that are not into existence.

*Call to Word action.*

The spoken word of the anointed is God's word. The anointed speaks in the same power, as God *".....calleth those things which be not as though they were."*, Rom 4:17.

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Only the anointed can control suspend or unsuspend God's established creation, Joshua 10:12-13.

*Prayer.*

Lord, please anoint my tongue, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
