Psalm 85:8 *I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Obedience to God brings a joyful anticipation of a favorable answer to our prayers when God speaks.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
The bible begins with *"And God said.."* Gen 3:3.
Every word that came from this emphasis on God was followed by His blessings.
A lot went wrong with mankind that later in the scriptures when we read and today when we hear *"And God said..."* it is with fear and mixed expectations.
From then and now, what God would say is now dependent on what we do to Him.
God speaks to the obedient and the disobedient.
This tells us that God's word comes as a blessing to the obedient and curse to the disobedient.
Our obedience gives us the confidence that God will *".....speak peace to His people..."*
This is God's will for us.
God does not have any problems except the ones we create for Him.
For example, He created man.
The form man would take in Adam was no issue to Him. However, the evil in mankind made Him regret that He ever created them, Gen 6:6.
When Adam and Eve started the problem, Gen 3: 13-18 chronicled God's curses, starting with the same emphasis, *"And the Lord God said....."*
Now, just as at time of old when mankind fell, when God decides to speak, we must earnestly pray that He speaks peace to us.
He does not have any problems speaking or deciding how He proceeds. God will not speak if He does not need to speak, and when He does, He proceeds with what He says.
He spoke, and the world began, He blessed, and the world became fruitful and He cursed, and the disobedient are accursed.
So when we disobey, we have a problem with Him, and when the word comes saying *"And God said..."* we may not expect anything other than His word of wrath and judgment.
To avoid this, we must turn away from sin and folly. Sin brings misfortunes. It makes sinners end, worse than their beginning.
If, however, we are in obedience, when the word comes saying, *"And God said..."*, what we will hear is
Isaiah 3:10 *Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings*.(Isaiah 3:10).
What do you expect to hear when you hear *"And God said...."?*
As for me and my house, God will answer saying *"Peace be unto you:...."*

Judges 6:23 *“And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die.”*

Psalm 29:11 *The LORD gives His people strength; the LORD blesses His people with peace.*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
When God speaks, His word is revealed in power of what He is able to do. Do not miss out on the blessings that come with His word.

Lord, speak peace into my life and family, in Jesus name.

Welcome to the month of August, our month of *"AND GOD SAID..."*.
Our joyful anticipation and rejoicing is that He will speak peace and so He will do for us, in Jesus name.
"AND GOD SAID in Jeremiah 33:6 *“Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.”*
