ALLOWING THE PAST TO PASS (3)
*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*ALLOWING THE PAST TO PASS (3)*
*Scripture Treasure.*
2 Timothy 2:4 *No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Lack of self-control, pleasing men rather than pleasing God, can be a major distraction.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
Paul warns Timothy that there is no one who is committed to waging war against satanic oppressions can afford to allow any distractions of any form.
A slight shift from focussing on God can be the opportunity Satan has been waiting for.
There is physical sleep and the spiritual.
Of the physical, Matthew 13:25 says, *"But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.*
A slack in diligent pursuits of living may result in poverty, Prov 6:10.
Of the spiritual slumber, 1 Thess 5: 17 warns us against ceasing in prayer.
Luke 18:1 warns us that men must consider prayer. Men must make it a duty to pray.
Eph 5:14 says, *"Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.*
We must never lack preparation, neither should we slack in execution.
Just because you lost a battle yesterday does not mean you will lose today's.
Do not settle for the disappointments of yesterday.
Remember 1 Cor 9:25 says ,*"And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things...."*
In other words, everyone striving for masteries controls himself in all things, though he is doing this to receive a corruptible crown.
He trains himself hard and with strict discipline. He is not distracted from his main focus, which is the ultimate goal.
If such a person strives for the corruptible, more diligence is expected of we who strive for the incorruptible.
Go ahead. Today is a new day. It is a present.
Your victory is assured.
*Remorse corner.*
How prepared are you for the spiritual warfare of today? Let your preparation find its foundation in the gospel. It is our beginning and final authority.
*Call to Word action.*
Eph 6:15 *And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;*
*The Christian clarion duty.*
Do not lose your focus on Christ.
Your past disappointments must not determine your today.
*Prayer.*
Lord, help me to focus enough in order to strive for spiritual excellence in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
