ALLOWING THE PAST TO PASS

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*ALLOWING THE PAST TO PASS*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Ps 90:4 *For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

If you do not allow your past to pass, you will pass away with it.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

We all remember our past, and some of them haunt us. This is why Isaiah 43::18-19 warns us, *"Remember not the former days....."*

There are, however, good things to remember the past for.

For example, Deut 32: 7 *Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations: ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee.*

Psalm 143:5 says, *"I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.*

We see that these two verses give us good reasons why the past is remembered.

This is principally the goodness of God.

We must always remember what God had done for us. We must live in His past, present, and future goodness, always.

However, the same God who said we could remember the past also admonishes there are pasts we must forget.

The question, however, arises: 'How do we easily forget our past disappointments, people's betrayals, griefs, etc?

We can forgive and forget them by not allowing them to influence our thoughts today.

Paul had to leave some things behind so that he could press forward.

Truly, the past can be a distraction.

Be careful. Choose meaningful things of the past. There is God's goodness and His mercy to always remember.

Shun past things that could affect or limit your focus or power to attain prospects in life.

Are you ready to put away your ugly pasts?

*Remorse corner.*

Do not pass away by not allowing the past to pass.

*Call to Word action.*

Philp 3:13 *Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended it, but this one thing I do: forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Free yourself from the past that will not allow you to see your present.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to lay aside the past that easily besets me. As l thank You for the past, please help me to also focus on what You are doing in my life now, in Jesus name.

Good morning, and welcome to a new month of February, our month of *FOCUS TO ATTAIN.*

Be faithful to the course, focus to attain.

Be blessed as you go today.

God bless you.
