*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*A RECIPE FOR DISASTER.*
*Scripture Treasure.*
Heb 3:12 *Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.*
*Insight and Highlight.*
Evil thoughts are recipes for disaster.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
In life, you will master the life and whole being of whosoever's mind you are able to control.
While we remain who we are, the thoughts that go on in our hearts must change from Satan's before we can live the life of Christ
When you come to Christ, you are still the same person before conversion. We still remain who we are bodily.
Your height, face, etc. remain the same. Your body mass and age may and will change, but you still remain you. The body is still your body with its composition and components. You are still the child of your parents, siblings to your brothers and sisters, etc.
The devil will still tempt you the same way he tempted you before.
Sin still remains sin by its definition, description, and appearance.
Given the above descriptions, we still carry the corrupt human conditions inherited in our Adamic nature and the behavioural tendencies and desires that go with the corrupted nature.
However, something changes the whole picture.
Something to show that we have died to our old ways of life and were buried with Christ.
Along with the Holy Spirit, who works out through conviction of sin in us, the way we think is a major recipe for the new birth.
If we do not change the way we think, we will frustrate the Spirit's work of grace in our lives, ref Gal 2:21, 1 Thess 5:19.
What makes people a recipe for disaster is their refusals to change the way they think after conversion and so allow for the root of evil in their hearts, Heb 12:15.
Rom 12:2 teaches us that while God provides us with an opportunity to change, He will not force us to do it.
Renewing your mind or changing the way you think is a personal move that finds expression in the grace of the new birth we have received.
Paul tells us that when a person changes the way he used to think, he will think as a new convert, and his new mind or way of thinking will help enhance his conversion.
When the way he thinks changes, he experiences a transformation from a sinful, carnal nature to a new nature in Christ
The way we think has a lot to do with our attitudes to things and others.
The way you think has an effect on your intellect, mind, and seat of emotions.
You are not different from what you think in your heart. Your outward appearance is an expression of your inner intentions.
Your behavior is an expression of what goes on in the thoughts from your heart.
What you eventually do has been predetermined from your heart.
It will define your personality and character Prov 23:7 *For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:........."*
Solomon further teaches us that someone may say pleasant and kind words to you while he holds something evil in his heart.
In Prov 23:7b, he says *".....Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.*
Solomon tells us to guide our thoughts.
He says, *Keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.* Prov 4:23.
Jesus tells us to take care of our thoughts. What goes on in our thoughts and minds are pointers to who we are and what we do. He tells us that a person's words reveal what truly is in their heart, Lk 6:45 and Matt12:34.
Do not be Satan's recipe for disaster.
Renew your mind today!
*Remorse corner.*
If what you say or do to people is different from what should come from a godly heart, Satan is using you as a recipe for disaster and to other people.
*Call to Word action.*
Change the way you think as a child of God. You will see that your thoughts and knowledge of things will conform to the image of Christ.
Colossians 3:9-10 *".....put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:*
*Prayer.*
Lord, do not make me a recipe for disaster. Make me Your recipe for success by helping me to renew my mind. Help me to transform the lives of others as l transform my life in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
