*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*A DAY AT A TIME.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Matt 6:34 *Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

While we prepare for our tomorrow, God warns us not to carry our worries along.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

Jesus warns us that we should not worry over what we can not control.

This is an admonition to rather pray than the anxious.

Everyday is ordained to have its troubles so we should pray, expect, and deal with the troubles as at when they arise or pray we do not experience them.

We can have a trouble-free day not because we worried about it but because we prayed and focussed on dealing with them one day at a time.

While we make adequate preparation for tomorrow, we should expect counter productive actions against our preparation. We are admonished not to worry if only we could commit tomorrow into the hands of God who knows it already.

Jesus teaches that we must learn to live in the present facing all that comes our way and not borrow trouble from tomorrow to add to the trouble of today.

Face your today and believe that when tomorrow comes, you will overcome the trouble it brings along by trusting that God will give you what you need to face it.

Worrying can not solve anything but can only endanger our existence by physical or mental exhaustion.

In Matt 6:27 Jesus teaches that by asking *Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?*

None of us have control over the length of our lives or our physical stature through anxious thought.

Anxiety cannot increase a person's physical height or the duration of their life.

Jesus was not preaching against diligent or responsible preparation for our tomorrow.

We plan for future events.

Prov 16:9 and 19:21 give us the awareness of human preparation.

The ant prepared for food ahead of the summer. It *Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.*, Prov 6:6-8.

Prov 10: 5 teaches of a prudent son who gathers in the summer in order to avoid shame in the harvest.

God gave the dreams to Pharaoh to practically give them the wisdom and the foresight to prepare for seven years of drought after seven years of plenty, Gen 41:1-57.

God prepares us for His future coming.

He warns us to not forsake the assembling with other believers *"...... but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."* Heb 10:25.

To endure to the very end and never look back, Matt 24:13, Lk 9:62.

He teaches us preparation in the parable of the ten virgins, Matt 25:1-13.

He teaches us to remain and keep ourselves holy as we prepare for His coming to present unto *".....Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that it should be holy and without blemish."* Eph 5:27.

The essence of Jesus' teaching is that we commit our tomorrow into His hands.

He encourages committing our ways into His hands as we prepare for tomorrow.

There is a limit to what preparation can do.

As we prepare more that we worry about tomorrow but let us know that as good as preparation is, safety at anytime is of the Lord, Prov 21:31.

The only solution to worrying is committing our ways to Him so that He can direct our steps, Psa 37:5, Prov 16:9.

Take a day at a time!

*Remorse corner.*

Worrying must not abandon human responsibilities. Plan but do not plan to worry.

*Call to Word action.*

Phillipians 4:6-7:

*Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.*

*And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Trusting in God's daily protection and provision are key to everyday.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to focus on You as l prepare for tomorrow instead of worrying about tomorrow, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and be blessed as you go today.

God bless you.

Shalom.
