*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*
*A CHILD OF GOD DOES NOT SIN.(10)*
*Scripture Treasure.*
1 John 2:1 *My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:*
*Insight and Highlight.*
The beginning of deliverance from sin is when a sinner acknowledges his sin.
*Scripture Commentaries.*
John implied in 1 John 2:1 that we must never deny sin when we know we are sinning.
He says that we come boldly to God, ref Heb 4:16.
On this boldness, he says *".....And if any man sin, we have an advocate......."*
He tells us that we do not just confess but that Christ will also carry us into God's presence as His newly converted soul. The assurance that Christ our advocate will not leave us alone but defend our case before God.
When you come to Jesus, you will not only admit you have sinned, but you are offered a solution.
One of the greatest deception of Satan is for one to say he is not a sinner when he is in sin.
John is saying that if you are in sin, admit it. You can not lie against the truth.
If you deny you are a sinner in need of salvation, John says you have denied Jesus and you are against Christ and His Father.
He says in 1 John 2:21-22 *I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.*
*Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.*
So living in unconfessed sin is denying Christ.
John clearly warns of the deceitfulness of sin and tells us to face the reality of confession.
He warns those who are deceived that there is no Christ, or He is not the Messiah and that He is not the Son of God sent to redeem us of our sins.
There are people who often deceive people that their wrongs are not sin and there are people who sin and often believe they are doing the right thing. They justify themselves in their sins.
Choosing to do evil often deceives us that we are doing the right thing.
Paul referred to himself in 1 Tim.1:13. He says *"Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief"*.
Paul, formerly known as Saul of Tarsus, persecuted the early Christian church. He was there when Stephen was stoned, Acts 7:58.
He said he was "ignorant" in the sense that he genuinely believed Christianity was false.
Through God, he was saved by God's mercy, but his ignorance must not be taken as an excuse for any sinner to justify ignorance and not come before God.
Looking at how God evaluates ignorance we see in Paul's case and Acts 17:30 how ignorance was excused but it may not be excused when knowledge of the truth is made available, Acts 17:31.
People use ignorance to lie against the truth.
Paul's ignorance must not be excused as not knowing good from evil but must be understood as an ignorance, not enough to change God's word that the knowledge of good and evil is with us.
Your fervent zeal to a conviction or belief never excuses the expectation that you should know what is right from what is wrong.
There are voluntary sinners, and there are people who volunteer to sin.
They submit themselves to sin, 1 Kgs 21:10-13.
John says people deceive people to sin. He warned in 1 John 2:26 *These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.*
John clearly defines that the knowledge of the truth is available, but people live as if they do not know.
As John said, it is not that *......ye know not the truth, but because ye know it,......,* 1 John 2:21.
The sinner who, when he sins, who does not lie, he had sinned, and admitting to the sin would surrender to Christ knowing that
*"......that no lie is of the truth.*,,1 John 2:21c.
The question to us is 'Why do we sin as if we do not know it is sin?'
Why do we not confess and receive forgiveness?
John says if we fail to do any of these,
1 John 1:8-10 *If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.*
*If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.*
*If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.*
Do not sin!
*Remorse corner.*
Why continue in sin and deny when God knows you are in sin. Confess and forsake your sins. Put the devil to shame.
*Call to Word action.*
If you are in sin, it is not spiritially healthy and profitable for you to continue to sin
*The Christian clarion duty.*
As a child of God, stay pure!
*Prayer.*
Lord, let the fear of God reign in the hearts of the children of men. Let righteousness reign in my heart above all things in Jesus name.
Good morning all, and have a blessed day.
God bless you.
