*A CHILD OF GOD DOES NOT SIN.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

1 John 3:9 *Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

You will never sin if you obey the voice of the Spirit.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

John teaches us that a child of God does not commit sin.

John is absolute with his comment. You are either of Christ loving righteousness or a sinner a child of Satan.

We have often tried to free ourselves from John's writing. We have often hidden behind Jesus' word that none is good but God, Mark 10:18. We have often hidden behind Ps 130:3 that if God were to count iniquity, who shall stand? We have often cited that *"....we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;..."*, Is 64:6.

We must never forget that as God forgets and wipes away sins, so also He will hold anyone accountable for their sins, Rom.3:23.

We must never forget how perfect God wants us to be, Matt 5:48.

Just because God is not dealing with us according to our sins does not make sin excusable.

For the righteous and those He chooses for justification *Mercy triumphs over judgment*, Jam 2:13.

He has the standard He uses to measure His holiness in us. He justifies our faith, Rom 5: 1, and He must see our inner resolve to pursue righteousness, ref 1 Tim 6:11.

We must never belong to the generation that always quote the verse *Judge not, that ye be not judged",* Matt 7:1 in defense when we are chastised but must always remember each time we are chastised of our sins that *The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.* Psalm 34:16 and that *"The wages of sin is death"*, Rom 6:23.

The statement of John may also be interpreted as *"....Whosoever is born of God...."* does not make sin a habit.

He does not see sin as something he will fall into or occasionally practice and hope to later seek forgiveness, especially after he has known the truth of God's word of righteousness, Heb 10:26.

The righteousness that reflects God's holiness is his lifestyle.

The child of God sees sin as poison that if he were to take it, he would die immediately.

John mentions the seed of God in the one born of God as his guide against sin.

John mentioned this seed as one that *"....remaineth in him..."*

The seed is the Holy Spirit. John 14:17 says *"......for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."*

When we continue to honor the Spirit at home in our body 1 Cor 6:19, He will remain there to guide and guard us.

Those who flee from the appearance of evil, 1 Thess 5: 22-24, and who see sin as evil against God, Gen 39:9 have His seed remaining in them.

People who do not honor His presence can not be guaranteed His continued presence. Do not be one of those who quench the Spirit's existence in them, 1 Thess 5:22.

The seed of God in the child of God will tell him that sin is not his meat.

He has a standard that finds its foundation in Christ. He knows there are set boundaries he must never cross.

He is aware of God's presence.

The fear of God's wrath is so heavy on him that he can not afford to offend God by sinning.

When you are in a relationship with God, you are intimate with Him. You are aware of the identity you carry as one in the image of the Holy God.

The one born of God realizes that the identity of God he carries is a transformative reality.

So the nature and character of God is in him.

He sees as God sees sin. Hab 1:13 says *Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity......*

God has provided security for the one born of God. He is the Holy Spirit.

Paul mentioned the works of the flesh and ends up warning us that, as he had done before, those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God, Gal 5:19-21.

Remember, you will never sin if you obey the voice of the Spirit, and if you love God, you will not disobey Him or hurt Him with sin.

Remember, it is not that the Spirit is not enough for those who fall from grace

It is because they simply ignore His voice!

*Remorse corner.*

Being born again is not a title. It is an identity.

You are now born of God, not of man's will

*Call to Word action.*

John 1:12-13 *But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:*

*Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

Sin destroys relationship with God.

If you call yourself a child of God and you habitually sin, you will send the Spirit away from yourself and leave yourself stinking before God!

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me. Behold me when l come into Your presence. Take not Your seed; the Holy Spirit away from me. Do not let me stink before you in Jesus name.

Good morning all, have a blessed day.

God bless you.
