A CAUSE AND THE CURSE

*WISDOM FOR TODAY.*

*A CAUSE AND THE CURSE.*

*Scripture Treasure.*

Matthew 26:24 *The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.*

*Insight and Highlight.*

While Jesus prayed for and with His disciples, Jesus says that in all of all his disciples, none has been lost except the *"son of perdition."* John 17:12.

*Scripture Commentaries.*

A cause is what gives rise to an occasion.

It is a reason for a purpose.

The cause and purpose of Christ is *".....he shall save his people from their sins."* Matt 1:21.

While Jesus cherished and prayed for those who walked with Him to fulfill His cause, He cursed His betrayer, the only one He lost calling him *"....son of perdition.*, John 17:12.

Jesus's life warns us that a person (as we see in Judas' life) could walk with Jesus yet not be into Jesus.

Though Jesus resolutely knew He would die for the sins of the people, Judas became a curse, and his treachery drove Jesus, James Peter, and John with a point of prayer to the garden Gestemane

Not that Jesus would be delivered from Judas and his co-conspirators, but it is to teach us to pray as follows:

First, when our *"...soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death:...* Matt 26:38.

Second, pray we do not fall into the temptation of the one who is close yet so far from us. Jesus says about Judas that he *".... that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me."*, Matt 26:23.

Judas' story teaches us that a once known companion, associate, and friend could turn the other way round to become a perceived enemy, Ps 55:12-14.

It is a dangerous thing to come to realize or understand that a prayer partner had become a prayer point (i:e one to be delivered from).

A prayer point is a guide to prayer. A focus on what to pray on either for or against.

A prayer partner is one you pray with and pray for.

Judas, once a disciple, a companion, a treasurer, John 12:6, became a prayer point for destruction. Jesus had a cause, a mission. Judas was the curse.

Jesus's word concerning His crucifixion was not complete without a curse to the one who would betray Him.

His cause for coming was not complete without a curse to the eventual betrayer, Judas.

Matthew 26:24 *The Son of man goeth as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born.*

We must always know that though it is appointed that there is a cause, a purpose of God for our earthly mission, this mission has not made the children of men fear God or made them less agents nor diminish their treachery, wickedness and injustices against us.

We must be careful!

*Remorse corner.*

For every God's cause and purpose, there is a Judas.

*Call to Word action.*

1 Cor 16:9 *For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.*

*The Christian clarion duty.*

It was appointed that Christ should suffer,

It is also appointed that we encounter some obstacles. We can be assured that every Judas that stands against our cause is accursed.

*Prayer.*

Lord, help me to subdue every curse against my cause, in Jesus name.

Good morning all and have a blessed day today.

God bless you.
